So I've heard that food on this server has the same duration regardless of what size of a meal it is. Is this true, and are there other idiosyncrasies of the server that would be handy to know?

Quickly turning with the mouse will cause the screen to jump. This is unique to p99 and is done on purpose.

It's the bane of every monk who has to pull Basement in KC.

Yeah because the original client wasn't built to register mouse movements as fast as modern systems so the server "predicts" where your character should be pointed, which can have some interesting results.

Combat formulae/mob stats are a best guess based on available info - nightime isnt dark enough compared to how it was this era - the UI is different than it was this era (you’re only supposed to be able to open 1 bag at a time and it looked way different) - raid mob 16 hour variance is incorrect for era - raid mob yellow fte text is custom content - raid rules here are convoluted and hard to find specifics for (you have to either know or dig through 10 years of forum posts for some rulings) - ZEMs are incorrect for era - Resist and dispels work differently than in era

Theres more but thats the general idea - emulations of client/server games where not all the data is available will always be best guess scenarios.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Unclassic_Bits

There's also the (potentially out of date) http://wiki.project1999.com/Non-Classic_Compendium

But both those pages are relative to the classic era. If you're looking for idiosyncratic differences from the current live EQ, that's a much longer list (that no one has compiled, at least to my knowledge).

A few that stood out to me that wasn't mentioned yet.

Caster NPCs. For starters, they have a level appropriate spellbook. In comparison with Live, most NPCs spellbook capped out and they'd spam level 30 spells at you. Im not sure if resists here have changed since my last login, but green-con casters dont give a fuck about your resists. One aspect that was fixed was NPCs having near infinite mana.

Water visibility was brutal on live during this era. Its much easier on the Titanium client. No longer need to use the inventory trick to see.

No wiki with the details of every item, quest and mob readily available.
