View Full Version : Worst thing you ever did to another player here or on live

Confession time, what's the WORST thing you ever did to another player, either on p99 or on live?
Me, when I was in 6th grade playing eq live on luclin server a friend of mine and I rolled bards for the sole purpose of training spectres in oasis. We would run them by the docks and just watch the scythes swing and then wed come back to look at all the corpses and laugh and log out. We'd walk to the gas station for snacks and then come back and do it again.
Feels bad

On my current server I have characters in about every kunark dungeon where I train anyone I see loaded in. Then I spam them with “cya firegiant”
On p99 blue id chain train TMO with nexona in VP. I would get messages pleading to let them CR and camp out. No mercy. Eventually I joined TMO.
On r99 I wiped the velious guild on Tunare by playing the bard shrink song while a rogue in my group the size of a pixel killed all their clerics. Tunare got to 4% lol while my boner was at a 100%

This is something my friend did on live and not myself. We were probably 14 when it happened.
He would go around and find peoples corpses and tell them to consent him. The he would loot all of their gear "to bring to them" and keep it. He had a 15 war with full crafted and 2 lammys. I am sure a lot of people did this and that's why they turned off looting others with consent. He was such a shitbag lol.

Back on live I met a terrible fate in the Freeport sewers thanks to the drowned citizens. I had trouble retrieving my corpse because it was so dark. Some random hero offered to lend me his lantern, with the only condition being that I returned it to him when I was finished for he too had terrible night vision.
After successfully retrieving my corpse I was so exited that I immediately logged off forgetting the promise that I had made. I only realized this several hours later of course and could not re-locate said hero, nor could I return his prized possession. It haunts me to this day.

My roommate in college sold his account twice ... and twice used the original cd keys to get it back a few weeks later.
On live back in 2002-2003 I went through a phase where I aggressively used a now well known cheat program. For about 3-4 months I kept several high value long respawn mobs on lockdown solo at weird hours that only I knew the timers for with a hack that let you hit mobs with arrows shot from anywhere in the zone. Mobs were too far to summon and endless quiver and archery mastery 3 meant I could solo lots of mobs that were borderline raid targets.

Camping raster on live I was there for 36 hours straight, toward the end of the horrific ordeal I dozed off and missed a couple of spawns, and another monk started killing the Ph, I explained to him how long I had been there and he agreed to let me join him and if raster spawned we could roll for idol, I had my mom join us on her druid, finally the raster spawned while the 3 of us were there, my mom got on the corpse and I yelled at her to loot it, she did, then I started freaking out in group chat to make it seem like she screwed up , the other monk was pretty pissed but eventually let it go, later that day I had my first robe of the lost circle
When I was in high school playing EQ for the first time, I took off all my equipment and asked a guy to help me with gear/money. I don't know how I remember this, but he gave me a Beetle Stinger (which was a huge item for me at the time) and gave me some advice/etc. I proceeded to put all my gear back on in front of him, and he just /t'd me 'Dude, that is not cool, really shocking behavior...'.
I actually think that experience made me a better person as his disappointment was so palpable I never did anything like that again.

Jesus, that girth is impressive
I never did anything bad to anyone. I'm just a real prick on the forums
I respect the balance though
My best friend back in 2000ish scammed a fungi tunic from a 13 year old girl on prexus. Disappeared into the wind and rerolled an iksar monk with it.
When I was about 12 years old I wanted to switch from a high elf paladin to a wood elf ranger. I asked some dude in Kelethin to transfer all of my items. He disappeared with it. I remembered his name up until a few years ago but can no longer recall. Fuck you man.
Back when I played a Wiz on Rallos ZEk I invited this warrior named Ramirez to group with me in South Karana. Got some exp for an hour or two and then waited until his health was low and nuked him to death. Took his skull shaped barbute. He had much more valuable stuff but I was a noob and had no idea what anything was worth. I also used to get on top of the bank in Freeport with my wizard friend and we'd nuke people up where the guards couldnt get us.

I was a guide on Mithaniel Marr back in the golden age of GM Chaolash (who was fired for summoning items for his friends, there are a few obscure posts about it on the interwebs).
Anyways, I would volunteer for the late-night guide shifts when nobody was online (you had to volunteer for a certain minimum number of hours per week in order to qualify for your free EQ subscription, I think it was 8).
This allowed me to more or less have free reign of the server. And Chaolash didn't give a shit about anything players complained about, so it felt kinda safe. Senior Guide Lily was different but I made sure I was never on at that time.
Guide Pallad (as I was known) would do things like summon players I didn't like into the locked room at the back of the NFP bank, to give them Time Outs. When they petitioned that they were stuck, I would go into the petition queue and delete their petitions.
Sometimes I would /kill people's mobs to fuck with them while I had GMHide up. Usually it was those cunts who would be KSing each other at derv camps or orc2 in WC.
Once I organized a WFP arena "Can you kill a guide?" contest in /shout in the off hours. That one was pretty damn risky tbh. Never got reported though.
I handed out free GM rezzes when I really had no business doing so. Totally stealth. Did that at Seb entrance a few times.
One time in Kunark I followed Afterlife on a Trakanon raid with GMHide up, but got eaten by his lifetap (was only level 50) and the AL guys made fun of me and my corpse.
I did other things too. I may remember more in time.
I didn't fuck with anyone who didn't deserve it though, I promise!

I met a guildy on here.
We had drinks, laughed, and reminisced about our times on the game.
Then we went back to my place where I killed and dismembered their body.

On live, a friend I was grouped with were coming out from High Pass into Karana and we both had DMF. We ran straight ahead, floating in a direct line instead of following the ramp, so we were actually floating over the gorge itself. I told him, "Hold on a sec." and we stopped. I proceeded to cast dispell on him, which of course cancelled his DMF, and he immediately dropped straight down to his death. Now, I know there is no sound effect as such, but in my brain I could hear,
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......... ....."
He was pissed....
I was thrilled.....

We also played a game called grief greeny where you’d kill greens in GFay and you’d score a point if they logged out. Nothing is funnier than a dozen or more elves huddled on the lift next to the POD and getting instagibbed with a supernova or something.

Back in '99 when I was 15 years old, I was in a leveling guild and there was one particular member who was an annoyance to everyone. One day he told me that his brother has a 50 druid (max level), and tells me that for every hour I PL him (with his brother's druid) that he would PL me for an hour. I PL the kid for 2 h, then when it was his turn to PL me he had to log off and he tells me he'd PL me later. A few days later the kid comes back, asks me to PL him again. I tell him that he should PL me first since he still owes me 2 h of PLing. He promised me that if I PLed him for 1 h, that he would PL me for 6 h total. I agree, and after 1 h he keeps begging me to PL him more. At that point, I realized this guy probably wasn't going to PL me at all and I told him I had to log off. Every time he was online for the next two weeks I asked him to PL me for the 6 h he owed me; every time he had some lame excuse for why he couldn't.
So one day, I logged over to his brother's druid stole all his gear (I remember GEBs being his best item), equiped my necro with what I could use, and gave the rest away. The kid never knew what happened; apparently he gave his brother's name/pass out to a LOT of people.
A couple weeks later, it sunk in that I stole the gear from an innocent bystander who's only mistake was trusting his little twerp of a brother. When I went to transfer the stuff I still had back to the druid, the password on the account had been changed. I didn't want to just give it back to him, because I was afraid that if they found out it was me that I'd get banned. But I also felt an incredible amount of guilt. So, the next time I died, I didn't loot any of the stolen items off my corpse and I let them rot.
I still feel guilty when I think about it. :/
It actually happened here on p99 a few years back and I still feel like a total piece of shit for it. I was grouped with some guys in lower guk when my rogue was in his 30s. I had been talking to some sellers in forums about purchasing a mask of obtenebration. Well my lower guk group was exping down in live side at like king? or something? Anyway I get a message from this forum guy in game that he has my mask in ec so I told him id be there once my group was over. Shortly after this conversation tho my group wiped and I just bailed to EC to purchase my mask. They all were fiercely angry at me for not dragging corpses and helping with the cleanup....
TLDR: i bailed on helping a group recover corpses with rogue so I could meet a seller in EC to purchase an illusion mask.
Like I said I still feel like garbage for that move...sorry Kayso and friends! I hope one day you forgive me!

Oh man it was rough on good team on SZ. I originally rolled good because I usually like playing the underdog in games but DAMN! Evils/newts controlled everything.
I got tired of having access to only faydwer and 20% of other zones in the game and rolled evil eventually.

When I was leveling alts in Lake of Ill Omen, either solo or grouping, every so often a bard would set up a PL session and cheerfully take every single non-casting mob by the shoreline over and over, regardless of who was there first or if they were pulling mobs to level off of. My response was to cheerfully log on my necromancer, peel off one of their goblin warlord mobs and run it through the bloodgills + goblin village so all the casters would aggro, then I'd feign.
A member of Dial a Port had a cleric set up near by to get some free cash until the Bard either logged out or moved their PL session somewhere else in the zone, or to a different zone. Bards are the worst. The excuse of "you shouldn't be using a zone that they can swarm in" as being my own fault has never held any truth for me.

Hmm I never really have scammed anyone but I have done my fair share of griefing people over and over on RZ and SZ.
Had a deleveled rogue Twink on RZ who would group with my buddy (level 5 bard and out of reach for pvp) for selos and would just wreak havoc every night in gfay on unsuspecting bands of noobs. I remember just destroying groups of people at a time. That was true EQ pvp, not this pussypants R99 shit. (Loot and scoot? lol)

I sold the BoC a couple days later for about 1.7m plat, then turn around and sold that plat for about $3500. Bought a new PC and took my friends out to dinner a few times. Didn't really touch EQ again until P99.

Was about 14 with three of my 14/15 year old friends on live during PoP, no idea which server. We scammed other players pretty badly, I feel awful looking back.
Bazaar was notoriously laggy for old ass computers back in the early 2000’s. So, naturally, we would be selling a Crystal Chitin Chestguard (I think there was a more expensive item with the same graphic) and because we were lagging sooooo badly, the Accept button wasn’t working. The buyer had their money in the trade window, we had the ~8k chestguard they wanted in the window, they had greened the trade, but, man, the lag was just so bad.
“Let’s move to the the wall, maybe that would help?”
Yeah good idea.
Repeat that a couple more times. Still too laggy.
“Okay just be really quick and maybe that will work.”
They opened trade with the 8k, we popped in a Brown Chitin Protector, the garbage 50p chest, they accept, we accept, and HAUL ASS!
Never ended up getting suspended or banned, there was a big announcement prior to server login warning of scams describing our exact method after we were at it for awhile. We stopped after that...

when the bazaar first came out, I was broke as hell. I started a little casino and worked my way up to winning about 10k. I turned that into a Ikky BP, and bought a bunch of steel BPs. Id put the ikky bp up for sale for 7k and shout its for sale, wait til i saw someone doing the ol running and staring at you as they right click, and right as they get to me I'd swap the items, they'd see the obscure price like 6999 and buy, walk about 20 feet..... and turn around lol.
I got up to fungi level and was doing that at 100k a pop, as they were going for 140k, etc etc. Did that for a bit and also ran a legit big bet casino where I did pay everyone out.
One time there was a level 1 casino with a strange name. He was doing huge bets with people and had like 1 mill plat he was showing as his proof of payout ability.. I waited til he logged off and made a char with the same name but two letters reversed. Got in there and was being legit for some and then not paying out others. Made a lot that day.
Another time we had a lvl 30 ogre running a casino in the baz. Me and my brother ended up getting him to join a group right as his port was going off. We got him out to Butcherblock where we had 4 people waiting as well. We all nailed him and then my brother got final blow and looted and said "SHIT! He destroyed all the plat :( ".... Everyone was bummed... then I look and my brother casts sow and starts slowing crawling away XD .. Got about 500k off him.
Sold all that plat. I was 12. Really helped my credit score though.

On Prexus I ninja looted a white scale off Gorenaire for my Bard's epic. I ran a lvl 1 iksar on my brother's account all the way from Calibis and camped him in the spot where i knew she was usually killed. I waited for a guild named Domus Divinae to kill her, logged on the iksar, sat inside the corpse so i couldnt be seen and spammed loot until i finally got in. Snagged the scale and camped out. Logged back onto my main and sent a tell to a friend in the guild asking about the loot and he complained it was bad, no book no scale. They never suspected a thing. I waited a few days to make sure, then transferred it over to my bard and got my epic shortly after. Told everyone i got lucky and found someone selling the scale, which at the time would never happen.
I was in a top tier guild on prexus for a long time. Became pretty good friends with a couple people and we started to share accounts. When i quit i stole all their droppable items and ebayed everything. Made about 4000 dollars in the end, which at 16 years old was fuckin awesome. I later checked and everyone i stole from had their gear reimbursed by GMs so i don't feel too bad.
I did the fire pot scam a lot when that was found it. Back in the day you would drop plat without any confirmation message. We found out that if you sat in fire, the fire animation would count as a wall, and when you tried to transfer plat it would drop to the ground. So i would spend time sitting in the EC fire pot selling a fungi tunic for a cheap price, tell unsuspecting buyers to come to the firepot, and then when they drop their money i'd snag it and log off. My little brother went to almost every server and did it. Eventually they patched it, but man we made a lot of money doing that.
At some point in velious my friend had a lvl 52 ranger with epics that he quit playing. So we would trade his account for high ticket items, and then wait a day and use the original CD keys and steal the account back. Worked probably 8 times or so before everyone in EC was saying to avoid trading with Teain.
I probably have some more i can't remember. I was a little shit kid

back in late 2001/early 2002, my older bro was a high-end raiding bard and i was a grade-school twerp druid who lived only to share my wolf form, snare/dot single spawn mobs over and over again, and reroll perpetually
one day said bro told me about a "glitch" or really a non-feature where if a player attempts to drop coin on the ground, the game would not ask for a confirmation as it would if you were to drop an item. it would just drop. so you could sit behind transparent walls and coax people into dropping cash, which would happen instantly as soon as they clicked on the world with their money
so, I called up my buddy from school and we used our two accounts to post up in the fireplace of EC, where I'd sit behind the animated fire sprite, which was composed of partly transparent textures. we offered very cheap fungi tunics and people would bite. when they dropped the cash, my buddy picked it up and logged. i also logged, then deleted char.
so.. victim drops cash, petitions a character (me) who never actually touched it, and presumably GMs are at a loss... i say presumably because we never got caught, even tho my buddy shared the plat with my account later on other chars and a bunch of other kid-like things like immediately trying to cover our tracks in the most obvious ways. i figure the logs or policy for assistance got messed up when someone straight up drops stuff on the ground.
the image of a poor soul hobbling over to me with all of his life savings, after just finishing the encumbered crawl from the bank, just so they can consolidate all of their hard-earned effort into a single fungi tunic, is really burned into my memory
we did it probably 5 or 6 times on different servers. im sure there were other folks doing it. eventually they changed it so you cannot drop money at all. just disabled. no more money dropping. forever
ya, sorry bout that

Worst I ever did was training people on low level bards. I trained in places where people never think about training. Obviously I trained people in the Oasis. But I also I trained people in Greater Divide, little did they know when hunting Kodiaks was a popular bard training spot. It's when the blue server characters think they're safe is when they are actually the most vulnerable.
I logged on a new progression server recently and got bored so I made a high elf cleric, got her a level or two, and then went to Crushbone and started divine intervention training groups for awhile before that got boring too.
I got my inspiration from Fansy the Bard.
I once ninja looted 100pp in a High Keep GM event. Turns out, GMs not the best corpses to ninja loot. Got summoned to Halas for a quick chat with a GM and were convinced to give the 100pp back.
When I was 13, I also called another player "sucker" after he (by accident) stole a normal gnoll from my group in high pass. Not a native English, I didn't know what "sucker" meant. That outburst was a bit harsh, considering he apologized three times.
Looking back, I think I am a Pretty decent guy in MMOs.

Not really a 'worst thing' but waay back in Luclin/PoP era I was in a guild who were kinda known for messing around on raids sometimes.
Telling all the new guys in the guild to click on the 'Electric Penis' in PlaneOfStorms to get their 'raidKey'.... then half the raid would be in hysterics as the statues came to life and killed them all.
One gnome /split a huge stack of copper in Vex Thal during a raid-crawl just as the mob gravity-fluxed everyone into the air. His whole group hit the ground HARD.
Always kept the whole guild laughing on those long raids.

Training spectres to oasis docks with 14 shaman was fun.
Using rogue to pick the freeport bank vault and telling people there was loot everywhere and leaving them trapped in there.
When grouo wouldnt invite my rogue, id instill doubt their pulls and send em sprinting around pulling adds.
Challenge people to duel with low level enchanter. Charm them and make them attack a guard and lose exp.
Epic lower guk trains .
Drop stuff on ground in freeport arena, advertise to noobs, slaughter them as they scurry about.
Im a terrible person
Ps: forgot a funny scam with people selling assorted crap they would /auc selling three bags of crap at t1 for example. Tell them youll buy these 2 or 3 things, they put in trade window, then say ohhhh let me see the bags again i thinks there was something else. If they put the bags in with the items, you can cancel the trade and loose items take up bag slots first and bags would drop on ground. Have a friend standing by to pick up the bags so when they petition you there is no evidence in your inventory. To be fair i only did this after someone did it to me

During the PoP era, I was maybe 13 or 14 at the time. I knew about this really great Paladin only mace that people would sell for dirt cheap in the bazaar. Maybe 20 - 50 platinum at most. I'd turn around and flip it in PoK to people that didn't know any better for about 1k. Think I did this five or six times before someone outed me in OOC. I still feel pretty bad about it all these years later.
During the same time period, I also trained a few people on my bard that were kind of shitty to me, or sometimes a friend, when leveling our alts. I don't feel as bad about this one as I probably should, though.

I killed a level 1 enchanter that wandered into the Qeynos arena for no reason back in 1999. I'm generally pretty considerate and conflict-averse, so that's probably the worst thing I ever did. Seems pretty mild in hindsight but I always felt bad about it.

Back on live around 2000 or maybe 2001 I went on a Kael raid with my guild. It was awesome as we killed a lot of giants and got a lot of good loot. I was 55+ Druid and when the raid was over a bunch of guildies asked me for a port. Problem was it was more then five. So I bound myself where I was standing and ported a group, gated back and ported a 2nd group.
Then I logged for the night. Well my dumbass forgets that I binded in a very bad spot. So when I gate guess what happens? A room full of raid giants beat me to a pulp. I die. I pop and die again. I pop and die again. I pop and die again.
Yes I got myself caught in a death loop. I had 20 corpses before I realized I should pull the plug to my computer to stop the death loop. Then I had to have a rogue drag 20 corpses and an epic cleric give me 20 rezes.
Soooo embarrassing LOL.

On live I looted a pulsing green stone at the entrance to KC that technically wasn't my kill. Someone trained VS to the entrance and the entire zone cooperated to kill it. While I think I helped a tiny amount, I waited around to loot it once the corpse was available. That's how I got my druid epic.

Wow, I have never heard of anything like that happening before. VS summons so I don't know how anyone could even make it to the zone with him still in tow.
Grats on the epic piece though. In that scenario you had as much right to loot as anyone else.

I didn't do much that was too bad. Just the usual logging to monk alt to train people that pissed me off.
Couple of my highschool buddies played too, and they did worse stuff. One sold his account like 4 times and kept calling CSR and getting it back until they caught on and just banned him.
Another friend, before item links were added and you had to either type out item stats or show people items via trade window, went around asking people with wurmslayers to see the item in trade window. Tons of people didnt have giant size bags so they would often fall to the ground when trade was closed and he's grab them. He was a douche too. Got guildkicked later for selling a green scale his guild gave him for his warrior epic.

There was a charm bug on live where a charmed mob shared your faction which some NPC's socially assisted. On blue servers people used this to kill POD with guards help, but on Rallos/Sullon Zek, I charmed rats or other small mobs to send at players from the opposite side of a map, sending guards charging to them unbeknownst to them. I created so many confused corpses of people.
On P99 the worst I did was was invis witnessing a drop transfer, and pranked them by swapping the item with junk. I then revealed myself to hand the item to them ;D

Back in the day prob few months after kunark dropped. Myself and a few friends enchanter,Druid, shammie prob all round lvl 50 would go to oasis charm gators and buff the shit out of them like everything we had. We would then zone out to break charm.. there was prob better way to do it but we didn’t know everything then. We would invis and watch groups pull these super crocs. These crocs would demolish full groups with ease. When the few left would try to run the sowed crocs chased them down easily it would make that nasty crunch noise as they got slower and slower lol. To this day it remains some of the funniest shit I have ever witnessed. I’m actually laughing a little just thinking about it. Good times

I /q'd out of a group when I was tired and didn't want to continue playing.
I actually have a story about how I regret NOT being an asshole.
I was a young fresh faced nub and was exploring Qeynos when I wandered upstairs in the jewelers shop and opened a door to a random room. To my surprise there was an Erudite in a fancy robe standing in the room who dropped a sword on the ground I swear at the exact moment that I walked into the room (I think he was using it to tell which direction it was?). I clicked on it out of interest and picked it up, and he turned around and /shouted at me to give it back. Again, I was a relative nub but I knew it was an expensive sword. I panicked though, worried about some justice system I thought might exist and I immediately dropped the sword so he could pick it back up. He /rude'd me a few times and ran out of the store.
I always regretted not just walking off with that sword and beginning EQ as a twink. Sigh...
On more than one occasion I had to wipeout other guilds in the planes. This was back in old shcool EQ, and honestly at the time I didn't feel that bad because I knew these guilds had zero chance to be in the zone we were clearing but they just wanted to leech.(Filthy leechers! And we warned them!) Feel a bit worse now that I'm older but I was a product of the times.

I like to friend assholes/people who talk like its possible to be elite in a 20 year game on a emulated server. I talk to them for weeks on end like we are BFF's, messaging them words of encouragement and positivity. They oddly never put me on ignore like a normal person.
Currently BBF's with this human monk who told me she is "a legend on this server"... "I'm an icel" which is a double-edged sword because it clears me of all those hookers when I was in the Marines but doesn't explain these kids... "gets paid to play and stream EQ"..."her boyfriend's a famous streamer and would I like to talk to him"... On live (not on P99) I stripped and duped many character's items. Things like multiple manastones, fungis, you name it I had them. I literally had hundreds of thousands of plat a few months after kunark release. I also sold thousands of dollars of plat, $7 per 1kpp was the rate I remember and equipment on Ebay. It paid for my wedding, two week long honeymoon and all the new house utility expenses (painting, utility deposits, odd and ends).
I did one transaction with a guy that bought my plat for cash, then use the plat I sold him for cash to buy items I was selling for in game currency then he proceeded to buy back the plat with more cash.

Me and my brother were both just kind of general people, not super geared or anything, but our cousin had his epic, constantly raided, etc.
We installed a key logger on our own computer, and when he was over hanging out we asked him to log onto his toon and show us how his epic worked. Between the drive from our house back to his house, we had stripped his toons and transfered it all to naked characters on our accounts.

When I was around 14 and naive. A friend of a friend wanted to play EQ again but couldn't pay for an account
I guess I assumed being a friend of a friend meant he would be of exemplary character. As such I passed on the log in details of another friend who was on a break from eq but his parents left his account rolling. I knew all these people IRL so what could go wrong, right?
Of course when my friend returned to EQ I had to answer some awkward questions about where some of his Tallon Zek gear got to. He was particularly disappointed to have lost his fbss.
I felt real dumb and shitty to be so trusting and also to have so easily betrayed the trust of my friend.
As such I am now more cautious about sharing account details these days. That said, the friend who had his fbss pinched gave me his details again for p99. Although he still occasionally brings up the missing fbss I guess it's now largely water under the bridge.
I did gift his enchanter a ggr in the hope of absolving my guilty conscience, but he pretty much gave up that toon as he figured he picked the wrong race/deity combo.
Iirc I also sourced and chipped in towards the fungi for his monk, in the hope that would kick start him on to his epic. Turns out getting the fungi was his main motivation for playing so slipped into a period of absence again.
We recently rolled fresh toons on Red. I'm just wondering how far we'll get before he flakes out again!

Worst thing I did was actually back in 1999 within a few months of starting EQ itself.
I convinced my friend to play about the same week as I got the game, and we leveled/played together. One day, he got incredibly lucky and someone who was killing dwarf guards in Butcher Block ended up getting a Box of Abu-Kar, and they already had one. The guy shouted FFA for it and my friend got lucky. We were level appropriate for the zone at the time, so probably 10ish.
Some months later, after they removed the Box of Abu-Kar from loot tables, he was over at my house playing EQ with me (we were just barely teenagers at the time). I noticed he had his login details in a text file. I made note of them. I later logged into his account and traded his Box of Abu-Kar to me. I think I justified it to myself by feeling he didn't "earn" it, and that I played more than he did, or some other bullshit to make me feel okay about it in the moment. To attempt to make it seem like a bug, I even went as far as to buy a "Box of Lute Strings" from a vendor, which had the same graphic icon, and put it in its place. I even remember where I did it, in North Freeport near the bank.
When he logged on next and freaked out, I tried to reinforce the "it must have been a bug" angle, and he never ended up doing anything about it. In hindsight, I am not sure why he didn't decide to petition it -- believing it to be a bug or not. Maybe he knew/figured it out. I would've been outed by the GM and likely suspended/banned.
We continued to play EQ together for quite some time. He ended up getting bored of the game sometime just before Velious came out.
Of all the toxic garbage things I've done over the years on EQ Live, that stands to be the one that I actually regret and feel terrible over.

Bees on Isle 1 anyone ?
I may have screwed up some MQs, but as I nice person I gave them back what they paid.
The only bad thing I did that I can think of after all these years was more of a sweet revenge.
There was a well known guy who Sold Loot Rights to High End Raid Gear back on the original Lanys server I played on which went for many years.
Didn't know the guy, all I knew is he had access to gear I wouldn't be able to obtain at that time.
I ran a legit Casino for a very long time in the EC tunnel starting poor and building up from there.
Eventually I approached the guy in question we went over how we would proceed about the item, etc I paid him 450k and we went with his box crew / guild to raid in Gates of Discord. The item didn't drop that time and from that point on he acted like if someone else was playing his toons. I swallowed the whole thing and told him he could have made much more money with me simply by being nice.
Long story short, I kept track of all the Transactions the guy was doing because he was auctioning them in public channels. Spoke with the Different Buyers, Used Different toons of my own to do business with the guy to gather more information, etc.
Revenge day came when a friend I had eventually revealed to me that he was a Guide In-game so I explained the story to him which rapidly did snowball effect leading to a huge investigation.
Scammer Guy got his multiple accounts and whole guild banned for RMT, when I think about it I still wish I had gotten the item I was looking for in the first place QQ.

When I was 12 or 13 someone convinced me to trade accounts. Of course as soon as I gave my password they logged off and I lost everything.
Ultimately it was a good life lesson, but still... you are pretty much scum of the earth to take advantage of a kid like that.

Here, I was the 2nd warrior on the tank list for Vulak but went to goaltend without telling anyone. My actions led to a wipe and eventual suspension for Awakened.
After bitching about how shitty the guild was being run due to suspensions I took it over with a goal to #CleanItUp!. Then I proceeded to run what was one of the joint top guilds into the ground in a matter of months by being an asshole.
Oh wait, that wasn't me...

The worst thing I ever did... hmm..
Probably my 'generosity'.
I tend to give people things that don't sell well or that I can't use, like stacks of meat pie and rusty daggers/shoes from fishing :)
or booze... and then edge people on to drink even though they probably have 0 alcohol tolerance
If the topic was expanded to all MMO's though..
way back when classic runescape was just regular runescape, I mercilessly hunted down a player in the wilderness. He tried to go to different worlds but I scanned through all of them and camped the spot her logged out... about 40 minutes later he logged back in and met his end when I murdered him in moderately room temperature'd blood.
I enjoy competitive games sometimes :)

A few things that Im not proud of but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive this harsh environment. Some on Live , some were P99
1. A necro killed my quest NPC and I cried in /ooc saying I lost my quest items . The necro felt bad and gave me 50pp . I didn't lose the items .
2. Hid all my gear in bag to get free ports saying I was on CR .
3. Asked a dark elf player into a tavern knowing there was an NPC inside that would Kill him on sight .
4. Trained Griffin into tunnel in EC
