What have you found to be the easiest way to raise this faction? Discuss.

I would assume tagging KT, possibly any other throne room giants that have a dain hit

KT and his throne room henchmen is easy I suppose, if you get lucky to be online for a tag. Obviously they are the biggest hits you can get. However its super tough outside of that with a limited time frame to raise dain faction out of KoS. Through various trial and error I eventually found a way to turn in helms to chamberlain while still KoS, a non sneak class of course. This is probably the quickest way if you have the helms and the mental fortitude.

Other than killing Tmax mobs which die once a week

You can kill 55+ mobs in icewell until you are high enough to do dragon head turn ins. It isn't easy though.

turn in the Rygor report thing over n over to the Coldain fort which that drops from rygorr messager in EW that spawns Scarbrow

Giant warrior helms worked alright for me along with raiding.

If you want cheap and easy, Erati nailed it. If you want a not so cheap way but fast and easy, Cecily got it.

I just grabbed as many rotting helms as I could from pick up raids. Worst part about it was bag space. It’s pretty good faction. It was either 25 or 50 to Dain per 4 helms.

Problem with helm turn ins, is if you are KoS you wont get faction for turn in, you also just simply wont be able to get to chamberlain without help. Dain faction is a bitch, the messenger quest only rewards something like +6 faction, to go from max KoS to dub with that quest alone would take god knows how long, its quicker to do the velium pick axe quest in thurg by pulling the dude in the mines to the NPC at the bar , snaring him camping and repeating the quest over and over again, but that quest only rewards + 1 fction per turn in (which could be about every 3 -5 seconds if you have the small brick of velium). Trust me I most recently had a stint with raising dain faction out of KoS, i researched everything tried everything and needed to raise it before KT would pop.

Outside of waiting for KT every week, or waiting for a group to pull his throne room the best way to get yourself out of KoS faction is as I said before helm turn ins by the following

- have self invis (if ur not an invis class then bring a shit ton of charged ring of shadows or whatever clickie u have)
- have atleast two people (one must be factioned)
- Invis urself and run to top of zone where chamberlain is. with an arrow and from the side stair hallway pull chamberlain and run your ass to thurg zoneline.
- Have your factioned friend parked at the zoneline or anywhere between the first stairwell and zoneline, and when chamberlain / the whole damn zone reaches your friend, zone out dumping all aggro.
- now its your friends job to continuously hail chamberlain as he makes he way back to his spawn point. He has to hail lock him in the stairwell at the precise point where he hasnt made the final turn to head to the next floor and you can turn in helms to him out of line of sight against the wall of the stairs.
- you will now have to continuously turn in 4 helms at a time and when you have 4 helms in trade window invis up and press GIVE.
- The idea is to turn in your helms while out of sight as to not aggro, and then GIVE him the helms and receive faction while INVISED. The only way to get faction if u are KoS is to be invis because it offers you indifference to the chamberlain.

If done right this is the best way to get yourself out of KoS.

Helm turn ins offer the best faction return of any quest out there. If u dont want to wait for KT, or any of his throneroom guards and named NPCs, this is what you have to do.

Also, I dont really like giving information like this out but, the path from 4 way to EW in kael and vice versa is full of low level easy to kill giants that have some of the better chances of dropping Giant Helms. As a 60 you can steamroll through them without breaking a sweat. and they are hardly ever camped. You can go from EW up to the front of platehouse through the tunnel down to fourway and when you're done clearing they will have just started spawning back at EW. Its also a great way to faction through kills.

Kill the green cons behind KT... how do you not know this? (Btw he’s a red player so this is a solo task)

The turn in gives you + 6 faction, which I explained in my post at the top of page 2 here. its inefficient to say the least

Mobs you can kill to raise the faction
Dlammaz Stormslayer (Kael Drakkel)
Drendar Blackblade (Kael Drakkel)
Fjokar Frozenshard (Kael Drakkel - Quest NPC)
Keldor Dek`Torek (Kael Drakkel)
King Tormax (Kael Drakkel)
Klraggek the Slayer (Kael Drakkel)
Velden Dragonbane (Kael Drakkel)

Thats the list of giants that raise Dain faction. Thats it.. only those nameds. most of which surround KT, and require a decent group/raid

After getting to Kindly with no KT mob hits, I have found:

Velium pieces are only worth turning in if you have a snarer to help position the mob AND you have a reliably quick way of gathering them (aka buying them). Otherwise, AFK farming the Rygorr Messenger is by far the easiest way to gain faction.

neither of them are efficient. its + 6 faction per turn in, ry gorr messenger spawns every 5 minutes, that doesnt count the time to actually run back and forth from messenger spawn point, turn in quest after defeating the quest NPC (without fail mind you). Someone who is max KoS would have to do this countless times to get non KoS: Most efficient way is helmet turn-ins even if you have to farm them... with a 50 faction hit per 4 turn in.

The math for the Ry Gorr messenger proposed faction system: 217 turn ins for KoS faction to reach non kos faction(just using these figures as an example, doesnt really matter what your faction is) thats 1300 faction points from Max KoS to Dubiously divided by 6 (faction gained per turn in). Who in their right mind would want to do that? Lets say it even takes 5 minutes for each turn in (which it doesnt) that would take 1085 minutes or a bit over 18 hours if you could turn it in every 5 minutes (ry gorr messenger respawn time) but that should be atleast DOUBLED if not tripled, quadrupled, due to travel time, time to complete quest (kill quest NPC). This isnt even worth arguing over...

Wait for KT, wait for folks to kill some of the nameds in throne room, or farm/buy some helms and attempt the proposed strategy at the top of this page for dain faction...
