Sarnak Berserkers for OT faction worth it?

My shammy just hit 51 and from the looks of it I'll need 124 braids to get the faction for the hammer. Are they really as spread out and sparse as they seem or is there a secret spot where a lot spawn? Doesn't seem worth the opportunity cost compared to a quick 2k puppet string click.

Weigh the time of collecting 2k in loot and coins naturally while levelling up versus hunting down 124 sarnak berserkers. Personally, I found it wasn't worth the time to collect braids, but you may have better luck or be faster at it than I was.

If you're guilded, there may be a benefit of getting the hammer for a lower cost, like 1/10th the recharge cost of the strings (around 80pp). Some guilds provide this service on the cheap because they know it helps mobilize a raid force much faster.

My guild does them for free for exactly that reason. String recharge cost isn’t bad.

The braids are actually decent exp at turn in. I did it once on my warrior. There is no spot just run along from sf ramp past fm to the corner and back, being sure to take a path on either side of the road when you run your loop. Or get a druid/ranger friend to track them.

Young Druids bards or rangers, sneak is a “must,” I’m paying 20pp per braid. Ideally, you have 3/per turn in. PM me here; 60pp per turn in, for you.

If you are 30-35 it worth it without doubt, exp on the berserker is nice, and the quest also gives great exp... I gained two levels doing that... At 51 your mileage will vary... 2k at these level is not much... Some guild also provide this service for their members. You won't get exp out of the berserker but you will probably get tiny bumps with the quest.
As for berserker rarity,
there's large ruins south of the chasm that spawns lots of berserker and a few wanderer near but 124 still will take sone time

Given that you're far beyond the xp lvl range of the quest, hell no its not worth it.

Definitely not worth it given you are level 51....easier to farm 2k and pay the max amount for a strings click while getting exp at the same time.

What race is your shaman?
Do you know anyone that has an Ornate Velium Pendant?

Some race/class combos are only 9 turn ins and an OVP click away from a hammer.

It's not worth it to do 124 turn ins for sure.

For my troll shaman and human monk I just hunted OT starting in the 30s and got the faction while leveling. 2 birds one stone and the quest xp was good. I finished the hammer faction for both long before I out-leveled the zone

If you’re already at the point that you can’t level on the mobs ... well I’d rather castrate myself with a spoon than farm greens for faction. You could earn the 2k for the price several times over faster.

Get a necro to /duel and hit you with ignite bones you then have 18 seconds to turn in the jade before you lose your faction

Worth it for me at L37, easy peasy camping the 2 spawns close to the
Outpost. I was L41 when I finished (troll shaman). At L51 you can make 2kpp in a handful of hours soloing trash for exp, so not worth hunting braids then.

Bards can just charm the foreman for their hammer, no faction required.

This wont work, you need amiable for turn-in. Skeleton illusion will only take you to dubious if you're a goodly race.

Just spend the 2k, its not worth the hassle.

My warrior did the 124 braids at level 51. I did end up getting about a yellow in 51 out of the quest reward exp. It's not totally balls.
