I think it's the same with all crafting, I'm getting it with tailoring, pottery and baking.

Same here. Did someone find a solution yet? I get it for tailoring, brewing, and smithing.

It's just the "You combine the items to make something new" (or whatever it actually says) string missing from dbstr_us.txt. I'm assuming they'll fix it next patch. It shouldn't cause any problems with skill ups.
I don't know what the policy is on modifying this file, or if modifying it would even work against the server checks. Since it's just a visual thing, it's probably best to just leave it alone until the next patch.

Can confirm, doesn't prevent skill ups (verified while raising pottery)

I also noticed merchants inventories all defaulted back to basic inventory. It reset so that anything sold to them by playrers were removed.

Was making some poison on my rogue tonight, after Chardok patch, and I get this message.
ERROR: String not found. (8053)
FIX for this Error Message:
Open the file eqstr_us.txt with a text editor
Insert the line for 8053 at the proper position.
8034 Usable
8053 You have created something new.
8500 Request Adventure
Save the file
Restart your EQ client

1. Open the file eqstr_us.txt with a text editor
This may be common knowledge, but don't use notepad to edit. It'll make it so the game can't read the file (and every string will turn into Error: String not found).
I used wordpad, but you can also use notepad++.

Yes thank you. I did use notepad and messed every thing. I fixed it by saving as .txt in ansi. Had a few tense moments there. Thanks though because I no longer have the 8053 error. :)

Hey, thanks for the tip! I might try this at some point when I have the time. It's not a huge deal and I've been getting tons of skill ups while getting this error message, but it would be cool to have it say "You've created something new!" again. :)
