New or returning 300+ players [Archive]

A recent influx of 200-350 players not sure what the accurate count is but its a lot, is a great thing for this server and im sure theres been a good deal of press from reddit i was told and other players on forums they frequent.

Adding a huge amount of players to a server is great, but it has bad effects too. Like the amount of people breaking rules and taking camps and boxing and obvious AFK exp ing.

These are rule violations, and i know as well as it seems most know, that no one is behind the wheel lately watching. Well im watching.

I am TLuth, one most of you hate because i interfere and help people and myself when pixel bullies think no one is watching.

Please do yourselves a favor and read the rules on the forum, and the eula rules on the splash screen when u load in, if you don't see the Project 1999 specific rules then you are using something other then our files to play and you shouldn't even be able to log in then.

Our rules are specific, even on camps, there is no outdoor zone FTE applied to any ruleset listed. Camps are camps. A campable mob is a static spawn, meaning it does not roam. And they are often created by players, observed by GM's and in place long before you ever arrived. I am not sure if some are mixing up RAID rules with gameplay rules about camps. Both are totally separate and designed to be so.

If someone is at a spot near mobs you want, send the player a tell and ask if hey are camping that? If they dont reply in some time take the mobs, but if you walk up and take it in front of them that is called camp stealing, and it is a bannable offense. So learn the rules before you can't log in.

It may well be that we have no GUIDE, no one caring to reply to petitions, etc etc as i've heard. But im watching, and if you wish ill post all the videos and shit here if i don't get enough attention through the channels we are supposed to use.

I am not alone in the department of sick of kid like players disrespecting others on the server in zones because they know no one will pop in and ban em.

They may not do so now, but don't cross my path or those that think like me but are too scared to peak up, i will engage you and record it all, with time stamps, and forward it along to the people that should care. and eventually you'll be offline. Or you can act right, play like the game matters to you, like the people around u matter, and help make the server a good place for all, not just yourself.

Post as you wish about my rant. Good and Bad, I don't care. Im simply fed up asking nicely and being laughed at. If the Gm's or guides aren't avail to help, then ill start making my time count online where i see fit.

Far as boxing goes, its bannable, and eventually they will catch on and end it again.
Far as afk exp'ing goes, its bannable, and if you are caught no matter how secluded you think u are IE Neriak corners and Sebilis Tunnel parking, if a GM is notified your time doing it will end. So do yourself a favor and figure out how to play legit before you can't.

crap has to end, recent posts of people selling accounts and platinum and the GM obviously not seeing it or turning a cheek is wrong, so im blowing it up now on the forum to let all know a site exists again that is selling old accounts, most likely dormant and fed from someone, and platinum for P99 Blue n Red as well. Hopefully someone will give a shit and start watching auctions there to end accounts here.

Maybe if you like soloing 1-60... There is nobody to play or group with at low to mid levels.

Yes, you can be killed, but you can also experience the world of Norrath, in a more free fashion. Blue is only going to get worse, should the population increase.

Coupling this with the fact that the final raid zone may come under a forced guild rotation, there is little guarantee players on P99 will experience end game content. I highly recommend giving Red a try. Bring your friends and family!

That is a great viable option. Also there's mimicked p99 servers available. And if they boot me for speaking up guess I'll go play somewhere else too. This is a great place but the scales need to be aligned again so folks can enjoy the content created. Plat only helps toons gain gear and status, doing shit right makes you legendary. You guys are missed.

It is not my site nor have I done anything there. I was told about it and decided to expose it to help end the influx of items and plat destroying our server is all.

Please try to take things at face value. I care about this server and have for years tried to keep a balance and peace.

If we allow RMT to go on even behind the scenes in discord or facebook or email, we allow an unfair unbalance that doesn't allow people to play how the game and server was designed to be played.

Everyone would love a few hundred K illegally attained plat and uber gear. But if we all had stolen credit cards and Chinese farmed plat then what would our server be.

You can call that anyone's site including mine, but you have no proof. I provide proof it's happening and has been for 2 years. Only question now is what are you all going to do about it?

Stand up for what's right for you, or sit back like quiet cowards and allow it to continue? I know what you've done for years and it isn't speaking up.

Also I find it ironic, but have no proof of this, that someone with access to user ID list gets banned and the same week old accounts that laid dormant for 6-8 years are now online selling uber gear.

Question that influx. Why didn't those accounts go active 3 years ago at release of various. Why is it now you see all these members toons and guilds that were extinct and or banned long ago popping up and selling off gear.

Possible someone shared a list? Anything is possible and I prove two of which in my post. Ask questions and demand an answer. Or the server will fall apart fast, and who knows maybe that is the plan as well.

But it sure hasn't been my plan making enemies along the way having my account stripped twice for trusting friends and standing up for everyone with no voice.

Grow a backbone and do something other then the same old me me me routine.

There also arent camps. If you're killing the mobs as they spawn, its your camp. If you cant keep up with spawns, it isnt your camp. This means no one can steal your mobs, because you're killing them as they spawn.

You can read the rules or make up your own. It doesnt mean shit what you think because you're just spreading misinformation.

I sure hope the devs of this server don't take action to assert their own "justice" against players roleplaying as chaotic evil. That'd be saaaddddd :(

Playing on Red was great back when <Fresh> guild brought tons of players from Blue.

I give up trying to help. You all can do with it as you see fit. Your ignoring the fact that items and accounts are being sold actively and ruining our server. I don't care about red don't play there and don't know what's sold. But on blue shit is being sold to pay rent. It needs to end.

If you all don't care then contact whoever the hell runs the server now and tell them you wish to pay to win and I'm sure they can help you out.

You’re just very naive as to how much time and resources it takes to eliminate rmt, especially for a volunteer staff. Your link is actually making it worse because now more people have access to a resource they might not have known about before.

So if you go to unrest and call cc and someone says basement. You go to the basement and mobs are up, you can pull them. If no mobs are up, you cant sit there and pull mobs. What is so hard to understand?

The timer doesn't start until the mob spawns, as anyone can claim to be "camping" a mob from anywhere as long as they arrive before it spawns.

The only time someone is truly "camping" is when they are actively waiting for a monster.
How do you determine activity? simple, first hit.
Anything less is idling.
Ergo, the person with the first hit is the one actively camping, meaning that the only timer that matters is the one immediately as the monster spawns.

We recently had a thread where i argued something similar; if waiting for a spawn and neither player killed the ph (nor did anything else covered by the 'hold a camp' rule) then the mob would be fte when it spawned, but I actually got ruled against by csr and it was determined whoever was sat there waiting for spawn longest would be considered to be holding the camp.

This entire post as with so many is out of hand, mostly due to me getting pissed off absolutely.

This comment was the reply that stood out to me as correct. I am naive 100% to assume anyone gives a damn anymore about what is happening.

I'm extremely passionate and vocal about changing it, and I cannot of course alone. It would take many standing up, but as I said a few times maybe the many don't care because the many participate in such acts I have pointed out.

So be it. I will not post again as I certainly know better how it attracts flies from all over, and it's my fault for expecting different.

I decided today to roll on p99 from EZ. Updated all my files in seperate Titanium folder and getting this same issue. One out of 20+ tries so far showed server select, but didnt let me log in. Thought it was me, glad i see it might not be.

For this situation you came to the wrong outlet. Where you should start, is Daybreak games. Remember, Project 99 had its share of legal issues with Sony and Daybreak regarding this emulation. A significant portion of the agreement between P99 and Sony/Daybreak is that real money is NOT allowed to be generated from P99. They want nothing to detract from the money they could get from their TLP servers.

So here's the solution. E-mail Daybreak at privacyofficer@daybreakgames.com. Yes, that e-mail address is for their privacy policy stuff, but there's a high chance whoever answers those e-mails is also from the *gasp* LEGAL department. I could not easily find a legal department address, so just work with that.

That said, point out EXACTLY what you just described in your first post. The part they will hone in on will be the RMT website. Send them an e-mail and see what happens. Probably will get the P99 staff working to resolve this.

Regardless of how paranoid the OP is, RMT comes and goes in cycles. The server staff here have probably been more effective and more aggressive at attacking RMT than the staff of any other game in history. So many people have been banned for it over the years. I figure there will be another wave of bans at some point after they make their next effort.

It is really interesting how the server has seen a large influx of players since December. Instead of peak server population of around 1200 during raid windows, we now are seeing 2000+ players online.

There was also a popular wow streamer who was playing P99 a few months ago. I heard there has been a large number of people leaving wow recently due to some bad recent expansion so there may be a hundred or so from that too.

I had a tendency to come back at the end of WoW expansions when I got bored (except for the times I'd 6-box on Live). That boredom just kicked in much faster in the current WoW expansion. Now I just log in for raids and otherwise, I'm logging on P99. I think my monk was created in 2015 or so, and I just leveled him from 10 to nearly 40 in the last few weeks.

You’re just very naive as to how much time and resources it takes to eliminate rmt, especially for a volunteer staff. Your link is actually making it worse because now more people have access to a resource they might not have known about before.

Also, to the guy posting my chat. You excluded the tells and say chat of your buddy telling my group he could take anything he wanted, and there's nothing anyone would do about it. That is why I blew my top. Ultimately, he sent tells apologizing and I agreed I overreacted as well. But like so many things online in text or in media it's pretty skewed when you show just a portion of the conversation.

I am human. And nice as fuck online and in real life, till you cross me and grief me in either. Then I become hostile and will help you learn what you did wrong.

Best to stay clear of me if you think you can break rules or this is your game. Because I will show you otherwise. Done so for many years and even entire guilds know this. Those trash talking and thinking your an exception, are welcome to test this theory in game and show me you can log in after you do.

I don't play your games. I play right. And I do my damnedest to uphold the rules when no guide or GM is present. Because that is what an active community should do.

It is easy as hell to cheat and steal from the Cookie jar when no one is looking. I dare you all to try to do what I do and pretend it matters to govern the server and try to do what is best for all over a few.

Then come talk to me about how easy that is. Far harder to work so hard to catch those breaking rules then it is to be one breaking the rules.

If 80% of the server gave a shit about the garbage occurring we would end up with 600-800 legit good playing folks online instead of the constant barrage of garbage that logs in and causes issues for raiding guilds or casual players alike.

I for one have always felt, as I have when I ran a top 3 guild on live, that having a tight group of legit caring payers is worth more then having sheer numbers with problems and boxers and grief everyday. Supreme knows this, detoxx knows this, fuugee knows this, any leader knows this.

The ignorance is assuming that not striving for change for the good, or not keeping your eyes open to what's occuring, will make anything better.

You can log in to forums daily and blow up threads when something pissed you off, lockdown of cash mobs, leap frogging, someone stole items off a 20 person shared account, blah blah so on and so on.

Or you can make a difference and make your time online matter, along with others that count and matter.

Choice has always been yours. But don't get upset with those trying to make it right on 99 or anywhere else, if you yourself contribute nothing to the game but problems.

I'm still here. Always have been. And it's most likely do to the fact that I do a hell of a lot more good then what some of you see as bad.

Keep your own necks clean and then you can talk.

Then maybe you should quit and never come back and go do something you do enjoy.

I don’t know how one would AFK xp, but is it against the rules to AFK skill up? I read somewhere about an easy way to skill up swimming by hitting a few buttons and you just go in circles for hours, eventually maxing out. Is that ok?

Swimming is fine, just don't be on top of a spawn with a parked mage/necro/etc pet while you're at work <3
