This is a weird question, but I didn't want to take any chances. Before quitting the game a year or so ago, a friend handed me a high-value item (100k+) I've been sitting on it because I don't know how he got it, and I have some concerns it may have been through shady means. Is it possible to ask a GM to check the provenance on an item and make sure it's "clean"? I don't want sell it and then get my account banned because it turned out to have an RMT history on it.

There was a wave of large RMT bans awhile back which seems to have caught up even a few non-RMTers by association as well (although it's hard to say for sure because people caught RMTing don't always admit it). It seems to me that if there was anything shady going on with that item, your account would have been swept up in that ban. The fact that it didn't suggests it's probably ok ... but I'm certainly not a staff member so take that with all the requisite grains of salt.

I'd think you're safe.. A year ago is a pretty good amount of time to pass by.

Lots of folks have expensive items at this stage. I highly doubt you have anything to worry about. You also might be waiting another year or two for a response. Enjoy the cash.

Could it be a Green Dragon Scale, a Bladestopper or a Bio Orb?

Haha no, it's not! But that post did remind me of it, and led to me making this post.

If it's a Narandi's Lance then prepare to be disappointed
