The class desirability poll does a pretty good job of showing what people's favorite six-man groups are, but what about people's favorite duo/three man groups? I feel like this would be especially useful for groups of people coming back to the game looking for a solid group configuration if they can't hit the 5-6 man mark.

tank + healer are mandatory
then you can add pretty much anything as 3rd, thought adding dps will increase dmg potential on single pulls, while adding chanter or bard will greatly help breaking camps. (for outdoors druids work well too)

alternatively if you setting up a kite group: druid/ranger + necro + any dps works awesomely

As a ranger, I used to frequently duo with a necro, cleric, shaman, and druid. I'd also trio with a warrior and cleric (boxed). With swamcaller, most classes become viable healers/tanks. Ultimately, if both (or all three) of you are properly geared, have your spells, know what you're doing, and have some of your class toys, most duos or trios can work well.

Duo: Enchanter/Mage. Mages can heal their pets with DS on and their pets can do ALOT of damage. Chanters can haste/slow, mez, root, stun, DD and have their own pet when brought into the fight. We have been very effective but both have to be on their game. With how buggy inside zones are like SolA and Dalnir for pets, we tend to prefer outside zones.

With this duo there is no need to Snare or Fear as mage just lands their smallest nuke to get their hit in for xp purposes. The sustainable dps from the pets are just nice. Add in a Necro or another Mage and you got dead mobs littering the ground everywhere. Single pulling is not a necessity and a mage does not have to burn alot of mana. The chanter Clarity keeps the mana flowing so medding is kept to a minimum.

The key is agro control using a Fire pet.

Mage/Cleric.

My Magician friend and I have conquered most of SolA and Mistmoore with just his Fire and Earth pet (he has focus items for both). I'm 30 and he's 34, and the exp is still really great!

Me (necro) + jobaber = best small group.

Plus he always passes on rolls and doesn't care that I loot everything.

I started playing here with 2 rl friends and we rolled Pally, chanter, cleric for group possibilities and ended up as a trio quite often. It worked well but or utility purposes if we went pally, chanter, druid we could have done more I think.

All mage groups are a force to be wreckoned with...No need for CC, just have one pet offtank each mob, the rest focus on a target. Chain cast pets and you never have downtime, can even AOE mobs down once pets have attained significant agro.

I really enjoy Mage (me) necro and druid for the trio. The druid snare lasts much longer and helps me keep mana to pump and fear. If we are duoing mage/necro in open area zones only.

In outdoor zones, it's really easy for any class with a snare (ranger druid bard necro etc.) to kite a mob while someone else (rogue monk pet etc) does the damage to kill it.

If the kiting class can also fear (bard necro SK(?)), casters aren't much trouble either.

Bard + Rogue could move from one mob to another with zero downtime forever as long as they don't screw up.

Enchanter + Cleric is a solid one
Enchanter + Magician is solid too
or all 3 of those pwns.

Basically Enchanter + Cleric + TankX

Where TankX is a mage pet, chanter charmed pet, or an actual tank is a fun small group. DPS is low if chanter isn't charming

Last night I was charm duoing with a druid, and it felt very strange. Cleric/Bard/Enchanter is another of my favorites.

Necro rogue. Necro snare rogue and pet own. Usually darkness is enough to hold aggro with 1-2 evades. If aggro control becomes an issue fear kite them.

I think Bard + Rogue is awesome fun. Casters aren't any trouble at all; just chain mez them or fear/snare them.

Druid/enchanter and Druid/Mage are very powerful combo's, in a dungeon or outside

Monk + Necromancer.

Anyone else joining the group should be charged 1000pp per hour.

Enchanter/Ranger ~ Charm a pet, buff the ranger/pet, ranger snares mobs, enchanter fears and sicks pet, no one dies, dps is great, never oom. Had the most fun leveling with this the past few days.

Enchanter + Mage (maybe Necro, but I've only ever done it with a Mage.)

Epic win.
