Say you have lots of plat to just unload on 1 character to lvl up from 1.
What race/class would you chose and why?

get ToV gear on melee class delvl to 1 in a few hours keep your 500k. But I mean a magician with epic at 46 would be gnarly

Ever before this the thurg armor 60% haste and a 25 point damage shield.

Casters don't scale with gear, so either warrior or monk.

Monk is your answer. Other melee are still group dependent for the most part

I feel like ranger is always a good- "I have tons of plat what should i gear next", Option.. I've never played one, but being able to buy that Breezeboots Frigid Gnasher thing, would be the bee's knees!

Do you mean post 50? What about a sk or paladin?

I solod Monk, Ranger, Paladin and Warrior all to 60 with pretty similar level of twinkage. (34% haste, fungi and decent weapons) Monk was definitely the fastest followed by Warrior. Ranger was pretty easy too. Paladin solo’d really well and I was basically impossible to kill with zero downtime (using Deepwater BP to heal between kills) but the DPS was so bad it took me probably twice as long as the other 3.

Yeah pretty much this. I like playing all my characters but feign death is just too nice. Instant afk whenever you want. Mobility and survivability.
Imagine a level 1 monk with Lungi/Fungi, tunare fists, primal wraps, 41% haste, and ToV level resists/ac/stats/saves.

How OP would a ToV end game BiS geared monk be if they deleveled to 5? Just solo content meant for full level appropriate groups?

Monks are supposed to be the least gear dependent class in the game, using their bodies a weapon. That's how it actually was in classic too, they did the best melee DPS with fists only. A twinked Monk is heresy.

This made me think of an interesting point actually, a twinked monk is insanely powerful but what class varies the most between twinked and untwinked? An untwinked monk isn't a murder machine but they can still put out solid DPS, can survive a lot, etc.
I would guess Warrior has to be up there, an untwinked warrior is painful to play and a heavily twinked warrior has incredible survivability and soloability.
Casters and priests suffer a bit since they don't get focus items in classic timeline but some can still benefit from twinking. Magicians get powerful clickies usable at low levels from velious armor, and necromancers can get a ring 10, aura of battle and a ZHeart to basically give them infinite mana via lich from 8 onward. So those two are probably fun when twinked.
Sadly some flowing thought items aren't accessible till 46 and flowing thought doesn't come close to the benefit of Fungi+Ring10 so most casters and all priests won't see that much of a difference.

Would funny to see one of these uber geared monks (Aikons or Chillwin for example) de level and see how fast it is 1-60.
Also would like to see an elapsed time (like logged in time, not a poopsock endurance feat) race vs. an uber enchanter: https://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Blue:Zarza
I think the monk would be way ahead until 40 but the enchanter would come storming in and probably win by a landslide in the end.

Monk would win by a landslide with gear like that fake magelo. Monk would hit 50 before the ench hit 30. At 50 the monk now has 3.2k hp and 1300ac and nearly invincible to spells. 51-60 dark blue cap mobs would pose no threat if the hunting grounds are chosen well. With some backpacks full of bandaids, that regen, and mend firing every 8 minutes for nearly 1k the monk ... all with 1300+ ac ... the monk wouldn’t have downtime.

This Magelo is really bizarre for a 'twink' build because a good number of items literally cannot be obtained for a good chunk of time due to zone level restrictions.
It's a good guideline for monks to shoot for obviously, it's just not a twink build.

I think the idea of that Magelo is if someone leveled to 60, raided to get all that gear, and then deleveled back down to 5 for the “ultimate” twink experience. Which I have no doubt would be crazy fun.

Who?
I feel like I know who you're talking about. Its always suspicious when someone with tons of plat all of a sudden goes missing for a long period of time.
Ranger has the biggest twink contrast, if that counts. I consider that the winner due to that. Monk has a higher ceiling though as a character capable of destroying the world.. but they do that well minorly twinked.
