Nagafen's Lair Lore Question

I haven't cruised around the server in a while but over the holidays I had some free time to log in so I did. I was re exploring Solusek's Eye today when I wandered upon a room with a map on the wall. As I looked at it I thought to myself is this a map of the giant area of Nagafen's Lair that leads to Lord Nagafen? I thought it would be fun to post it on the general forums and get other peoples opinions. Tell me what you all think. Looks like a map to Lord Nagafen to me!

I know I could look it up but in the spirit of classic EQ and the community I'd like to ask what is the connection between the two zones Solusek's Eye and Nagafen's Lair? I played this game in 1999 but never really read up on the lore I was always more interested in the open world dungeon crawling aspect so I really don't know after all these years.

-Solusek's Eye is actually a diamond that was formed from 1 single tear shed out of love from Nagafen himself. That diamond is in the big volcano, which we now call Solusek's eye..

-The Temple of Ro is a place of training. Dedicated to followers from all races to pursue further training in their chosen profession. Combat not welcome, Learning only!

- Solusek's eye aka SolA and SolB are home to Gnome Miner's, Kobald followers of Nagafen, Fire Giant followers of Nagafen, and Goblin followers of Nagafen.

-Gnomes just did their explorer thing to end up here. Then brought in their clockwork miners cause they can tolerate the intense heat.

- Goblins don't beef with the gnomes, but both factions beef with kobalds.

- Kobalds are Nagafen's chumps. They worship him, and he rules them but he allows kobalds to keep their culture in tact.

- Nagafen's Lair was built by the fire goblins, specifically due to an agreement between the lord himself and the Fire Goblin King. The pact was, build the lord a lair, and the king and his goblins will retain control of their subjects, unchallenged.

Sol A and Sol B were originally a single zone but they had to split them up because PCs at the time couldn't handle it.

So this map represents a blueprint and not a plan of attack? The latter was my original thought, that the fire goblins were planning an attack on the kobalds of Nagafens Lair. That's some pretty amazing lore.

Ah, Dolalin based on bigjeff100's description that makes more sense. Don't imagine the area as two different zones but one zone with 3 different factions inhabiting it.

Lastly, the reason Nagafen is still in his lair-

Nagafen used to force the people of Qeynos to send 1 Erollisi Marr following maiden to his lair every year as a sacrifice. Until 1 maiden tugged on some heart strings. She asked Nagafen that she be the last sacrifice. Erollisi was impressed by this maiden's selflessness- She used a golden thread to sew nagafen's heart to his stomach. This caused all pains of hunger to be translated into pains of love. The more he starved, the more his heart swelled. The more his heart swelled the more his chest swelled, and the bigger his body became, until he was so huge he was stuck in his lair!

It's when this all happened that Nagafen shed 1 single tear that turned into the diamond. Which is called solusek's eye, for the volcano it now lies within.

Yeah i'd guess it's a blueprint, or just a map the goblins made and use. They do like drawing stuff :)

What of the drawings describing the wars between the goblins and the kobolds? Or how the kobolds predate on the goblins?

Built the lair the goblins might have, but perhaps they are using their blue prints to plan a seige?

Which zone are these drawings in? I'm having trouble picturing them.

I guess SolB as they are cave scribblings. That seems like a kobold thing.

There might also have been a scene depicting a fight between dogs and giants too?
