I don't know what event you are referring to on this one, but the EC one didn't have jack diddly as far as loot. Unless you are referring to another one, but the one post kunark release the mobs didn't have anything on them because my group took out the majority of the mobs including 2 of the three fabled GM mobs or whatever they were called but named Rogean, Nilbog, and Uthgaard. All that happened was whoever was in zone got to random and the top 5 won something, was pretty lamesauce considering everyone who won pretty much had nothing to do with thwarting off the mobs.

Considering the event was designed for level 25 and under, 50 plat was pretty significant. It was more than 10 times what most of them had.

People bitched that the loot in the October stress test was too good.

There's no way I'm going to put a drop on a mob in an event, and then deal with the fighting and fallout over who had loot rights. Either everyone who participated will get something equal, or everyone who participated will get an equal chance at something.

No one made you go. One person (who spent the entire event complaining with his friends) miffed that they didn't get uber phat lewt on their character with a wurmslayer and green jaded broadsword with BIS jewelry and full crafted or better, is better than 140 slightly disappointed newbies wielding A Club* and wearing A Dusty Tunic* to whom that event meant something, and the reward made a world of difference.

50pp reward buys each person who got it potentially something nice for a low level to get them started...(if they can find them in EC), with change in many cases!

A set of banded/bronze (all the important show pieces and then some)
Dragoon Dirk (great for low level casters for the levels they still have to melee when solo)
Robe upgrade (perhaps Gossamer, or some such...)

...or anything else for 50pp, the list could go all down the page. The point is, in essence, every low level has the potential to go to EC with their 50pp and pick up an item with it.

Everyone (that the event was intended for) is a winner, amirite? :)

Nah, they nerfed it because they hand warriors, while in berserk frenzy, duel wielding Wurmslayers, doing as much damage as monks/rogues.

an NPC that is in your group and heals you. So that you don't REQUIRE a cleric in your group anymore, or a healer for that matter.

That being said, any competent healer blows their AI/healing abilities away easily. Just an easier way to group and not be fucked over when you get a tank, a slower, a CC, DPS but can't find a healer essentially.

And those SKs were bad. They did solo it, those zones ban mercenaries so that statement is irrelevant, you have no clue what you are talking about. Endless Numbers (FC1 aug event) and Vergalid 2 SKs were mass farming adds that hit for little amounts. There would be 10s-100 of them on the SK at a time. Mortal Coil siphons XX% of each swing while active. Add up 10-100 adds hitting for small amounts + double riposting SK with a large damage sword = infinite health. All they had to do was be at the keyboard occasionally to hit attack...

The only correct thing about your statement was they didn't do it AFK.
