Green UI

Naive question, what UI is the UI on Green meant to emulate? I can't recall ever seeing such an UI on Live.

Wenai/Deezy/Jibartik/Secrets/etc are working on a better variant. It's not packaged with the standard P99 download just yet but it'll be a great improvement.

It's a newer version of the 'velious' or 'transparent' UI added back sometime in the humble beginnings of EQ.

It went through different stages. What we have right now on Green Beta is a much later version. A few people, with the guidance of Rogean/Nilbog, are working to 'classic-ize' the velious UI and will be distributed when they deem it's ready. (this is my interpretation of what will happen)



See the image below for an example I took of the trilogy era UI, taken on the eqclassic server a few days ago. This is the version they're sort of aiming for.

The reason you don't recognize it is because everyone used the stone UI pretty much up until they found a custom UI. This UI was an option but was pretty lame as you can see, so not many used it.

Can you or he advise if music actually works in P99 and I don't know what I am doing or is he just playing a youtube soundtrack ? The one thing I miss is the music, I generally run a youtube playlist in the background when I am feeling extra nostalgic but if there is a an actual way to get the music I'd love to know :D

The music has always been working for me with exception of classic Lavastorm, if there's an issue it is probably on your end.

I had Spotify playing in the background, Daybreak released a non-midi soundtrack on Spotify and other platforms. EQ's music only works contextually. Meaning that if you're at the gates in North Qeynos, specific music will play.

I had trouble getting zone music to work yesterday when I logged in...combat music worked just fine.

Only people really focused on performance or larger viewing window used velious UI or at least that's what I remember. I stopped using original UI when it was force removed I believe in luclin. I heard we can change viewport if that's the case maybe a good enough replica can be made client side.
