Okay the reason I made this thread was so hopefully more people are aware of the announcement. Some people can't even find the latest patch file so I assume some people don't even read the announcements. You know it's true.

This isn't a platform to rant or flame the topic. I just want more people to be aware.

9 PM Eastern Time, Friday, October 18th.
Characters will be deleted if they meet both of the following conditions:
They are under Level 10
They have not been logged into since January 1st, 2019.

ps. I understand people will think this is redundant and pointless. It's not, every single time there is a patch update someone makes a thread saying their spells_us.txt isnt correct. Because they don't read the homepage.

You have to log in each individual character. Logging into the account isn't enough.

I always thought a blue name purge was a good idea, but I don't know why it shouldn't be a mass renaming of inactive low level chars to random long character fantasy names nobody would care about.

Here's some I generated online nobody would miss:

Evindaltorf
Sylvarqizo
Melandrachdaes

Etc

I feel sorry for the people taking an extended break or the active duty US military folks on deployment who have been unable to log in. Lots of tunnel mules will bite the dust.

Imagine getting sent to Afghanistan to be shot at for 12-15 months only to come home and find your p99 bank mule deleted.

I’m just glad they added that requirement that it not have logged in in 2019, otherwise it would be a name change exploit (delvl self to 9, get wiped, use name on new acct, then petition for restore)!
