is this patch compatible with blue? had to turn off my dynamic lighting yesterday to be able to raid. was entirely too laggy with it as true vs false in the setting.
also had someone say to make a different file for green. if this is necessary how can this be accomplished. thanks in advance

Partially. You can use the same files on both provided you switch out the spells file and possibly the .dll every time (use 50d versions for blue, 50f versions for green).

Copy blue install folder -> rename to something else -> install green files on new folder. When you want to play green launch from that folder, launch blue from the blue folder

I understand that for now you have to keep swapping the downloads (50d & 50f) depending on blue or green server. But...the night darkness is still there on blue. How do you turn the darkness off on blue? And will this be somehow compatible for both one day? Darkness on for green...off for blue?

You'd have to go back to your Titanium disks and re-copy the original files that the darkness patch replaced out of the RenderEffects folder.

so best thing to do in this scenario without going to dynamiclighting/false vs true each time I want to test green is to copy entire titanium install and have one named for blue and one for green. and install 50f into green folder. sorry would have had this conversation earlier but family health issues arose. thanks for the amount of responses.

my next question is how do I differentiate the .exe to start game in green so it doesn't start blue.

yeah since making new desktop icon for launching after patching 50f into new folder I get can't find eqgame etc.

Make a copy of the blue launch icon and edit the path (right click -> properties) to match the green install location (C:\Program Files\Sony\Green99\eqgame.exe) leave the patchme at the end if it's there

Ok I did this but when I click the icon for launch (and I put in new file as destination) it says cannot find eqgame.exe

That's... Really weird. Try copying eqgame.exe from the blue install to the green install

looks like green is just making headaches and to be honest this game is too old for me to go through all the technical bs again

I literally copied my titanium install to a different file name. did 50f download and installed in new file. I copied my desktop icon for blue renamed it and put target file as new file.

Everything for blue still works. if I try to load green from it I get that error window as character select loads. it might just be easier to do dynamic lighting false if I want to switch between servers.

ok when I check the actual eqgame.exe in new folder in properties it's target is C:/(newfilename)/(newfilename) and when I check old file eqgame.exe it's target is just the old filename once.

The paths should be identical aside from the renamed EverQuest folder, assuming it's also located in the Sony folder

I guess I'm not following. this has become a nightmare just to be able to log in. and I really don't want to mess up blue which I'm sure will eventually happen since there's becoming redundancies in files.

I'm working from memory since I'm not at home, but I'm pretty sure my eqame.exe is located in C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe
If you navigate to the Sony folder, copy that EverQuest folder and paste it into the Sony folder you should get a folder named EverQuest(Copy) or something similar. Right click, rename that to something like Green99. If you then navigate inside the green99 folder, find the eqgame.exe file and right click send to desktop. A new icon should be generated on your desktop. If you right click this new icon, go to properties there will be a box named Target with a file path in quotes. This path should match where your green99 eqgame.exe is located. If it is correct do not change it, simply put a space and patchme after the closing " ( \eqgame.exe" patchme)
That is how it has worked for me

I didn't install titanium straight through program files in the order you did. I renamed my pathway due to when I first started there were suggestions to keep emulator out of the program files field. so are you saying you just copied the one eqgame.exe file or made an entire new file with all the titanium data? and I appreciate the persistence you've shown in trying to help with 1: my ignorance of fine tuning emulators 2: see #1. My emulator titanium is literally it's own file in C: drive named EverquestTitaniumEmu. will this change anything along the steps you last relayed?

how you have the copy then paste into the sony so it shows copy then rename should I just copy titanium then paste it to c drive for similar effect or will this not work since there's no hierarchy file level except for c drive and the file itself

Where ever it's installed, you just need a copy of the EverQuest folder (or whatever it's been renamed to) and then a corresponding short cut to launch that copied version of the game. So if your blue installation is in C:\EverQuestTitaniumEmu\EverQuest\eqgame.exe
Then green should look something like
C:\EverQuestTitaniumEmu\Green99\eqgame.exe
That green99 folder should have all of the same files as the EverQuest folder. Once that has been done and you've verified that you can launch the game from green99 you can patch files and turn lighting on/off without changing the other installation

ok the copying procedure seems to have worked. I'm able to use new file area to log to server select. I select green and get to character select and have the same dll file error as if I loaded blue. I did install patch

sorry when patching files to new folder I got 756 errors from WinRAR. I wonder if I need to install these here in administrator mode

went to admin mode and can't connect to internet and couldn't find 50f download. or any of my other downloads for that matter.

That's all very strange, I'd try restarting your computer

wow it's finally working. I could copy to inside program files which I did initially but when patching didn't have the permissions to overwrite necessary files. so copied like you initially said but just into the C drive which bypassed the persmissions when patching. Thanks for the help.

Glad to hear it's working!
