Posting this after already reporting it as a bug and making lots of noise. It appears to be intended for beta:

Confirmed mobs with custom loot: an evileye, a froglok urd shaman (evil eye ph), and regular hill giants in Rathe Mountains.

Each mob drops 6 items from the following list in addition to their regular items, ie. manastone and evil-eye bag from eye, plat and toes from HG.

Here is the confirmed loot I've seen from about 7 evil-eye or ph kills and 1 hg:

Lupine Dagger
Giant Grub Digger
Weighted Axe
Essence of Dol
Baton of Faith
Leg-Chopper
Hammer of Flattening
Runed Morning Star
Rod of Oblations
Giant Tree Flayer
RukGus' Stinger
Deepwater Helm (vendors for ~350p)
Jarsath Scale Leggings
Obulus Mantle
Drolvarg Mantle
Gem Encrusted Ring
Giant Foreman's Tunic
Idol of the Thorned

There are probably more items and mobs involved.

From what I assume, this is a collection of items that are handpicked so as to not be too far overpowered. The best ratio weapon is the lupine dagger at 9/18 but is ranger only. These aren't gamechangers but a little incentive to get down to guk or rathe and help test the manastone camp.

The biggest impact will be the deepwater helm which alone will bring riches quickly to anyone farming HGs. Just remember, sickos, there's only 10 days left in this thing. I've just been giving items and plat away to my guild.

I haven't seen any official response from devs on this but I don't think anyone is assuming this loot will make it to green live- just a beta thing. Was quite a surprise to level up dirt poor and suddenly find a bunch of crazy loot only at lv 40, but there it is! After a few days, these items and plat should be flooding the beta.
