How come nobody ever talks in chat

I just came back to the game after being away for a good while and IMHO chat is just dead. I have spoken to a total of 2 people since i have been back and if you ask a question in chat ( for me ) nobody answers you at all.

What the heck is going on with the blue server... is it just that everyone is gearing up to leave it when green comes out ?

Blue is top heavy, many have twinked characters so they don't need to socialize.

Play on green, people won't shut up. And those rogues who don't have epic can still get a group.

edit: also people are waiting for green release. So some are taking a break from blue till green comes out.
Blue will never die. Green will dump into blue at the end of it's life.

I think it's more that people just don't always initiate conversations but I know I'm often playing and eating or playing and watching youtube, or taking care of the kiddo so I'm focused on just doing what I'm doing and I don't feel like bothering others. If someone else starts a conversation in /ooc I almost always will join in if I have anything interesting to add or if the subject is interesting. I don't think it has anything to do with blue vs green.

Also I don't know about everyone else but guildchat is usually humming along so I don't need to engage random people in /ooc when I'm already talking in guildchat or on discord.

What chat? They are all probably talking in another chat, or actually talking in discord, but it is hard to understand what you are even trying to say with the vague complaint.

Some of the best groups I've had where nobody wants to leave is where...

1. The pulls are good and frequent.
2. The DPS is steady and nobody is OOM/med breaking.
3. The banter is good in /g ;)

I always try to get something started in group chat, usually people are responsive but someone has to make that first EQ dad joke or something like it and get the ball rolling <3

If you mean public channels being quiet, go to EC and tell everyone who you voted for in the last Presidential election and why...guaranteed to start something :)

<Castle> can provide the social environment you seek. Send a tell to anyone in game and an officer can invite you.

Remember that /ooc and /shout are only zone-wide. Also, while I often talk in /ooc or /shout, some people assume you aren't addressing them and refrain from responding. Only the less-shy participate in public conversation. Perhaps you are among these gregarious individuals.

There isn't much of a conversation here, as you still haven't clarified exactly what your issue is to get any relevant or meaningful feedback. (Hence why I asked)

Do you think you are in some kind of global chat channel? Are you in a group with dead group chat? Are you talking in ooc in Toxx when you are the only one in the zone? Are you in a guild with dead chat and no members because you drove them away? It's all hard to tell, because you lack the basic communication skills to describe it, even when asked directly.

Either way, it gets more obvious with each post you make why noone is talking to you in game. :rolleyes:

If its blue, there's no one to talk to because its all top heavy or twink alts, everyone is in karnor's castle farming exp/T staves, although most groups ive been in have had plenty of party banter

If its green beta, its 70 people and 35 of them are a box cleric

When it is green release and we hit 1k hopefully and the only thing to do is spam LFG and meme in ooc then there will be people talking

I always noticed that it depends on how you start a conversation in a group.
OK, some do a /resist but most of the times it will work.

Generaly people do nice talking (and want to talk) in groups.
Once i had somebody telling his whole (characters) life story.
That was so nice told and went through hours while we were in MM pulling at castle entrance.

Just do the first step, and best in a group.
Otherwise you should try something very controversal, people will jump up.

Your reading comprehension needs a lot of work.

Noone in this thread understands, which is why all the posts are just generic info as they are trying to guess what he means.

I asked for clarification, and all of my posts contain relevant questions to further the discussion. When presented with those, he chose to not once clarify and instead insult, which clearly indicates he is not actually seeking discussion or responses.

You can add your post to the list of ones that do not attempt to further that discussion which mine do.

Take a second and reread the thread, and tell me where you see the first insult pop up? How about the second? Seeing a pettern?...
