There was a huge name violation purge like... a year and a half ago? A lot of people lost their names that they'd had for years. It all felt kind of arbitrary since guys like "Detoxx" were left alone, but others like "Winchester" were nuked.

Regardless, I wouldn't tempt the GM Gods by flaunting a great name if you managed to snag one.

was waiting at 9 and several of mine got purged that i was sure I had logged in but I got the ones back I wanted.

The best part of this was seeing the other names also just sitting down and logging out immediately, occasionally lolling at each other

I got several that were very surprising and not in violation of policy.

Probably some people are, but I think a lot of us just grabbed names we liked but wouldn't mind parting with if someone really wants one.

For instance, I got "Daisy" last night (thought it might be cute on a female halfling or gnome) and tossed it back this morning when I realized I'll probably never actually play that. I have another that I'm like 75% sure that I won't play and will probably delete soon. If I see someone in the name trade thread really wants it, I'll delete it and message them.
