PSA - IP exemptions for Green (Reminder)

Just a friendly reminder expect staff to be busy during and following Green's launch. We have been fairly on top of IP exemption requests for some time but I would like to just remind anyone who plan's on playing with family and friends from the same location for Green's launch to get the requests in prior to launch.

I plan on clearing out any and all remaining IP exemption requests before Green's launch (Tuesday or Wed night)

Please keep some things in mind when requesting for an IP exemption

1) READ - https://www.project1999.com/forums/announcement.php?f=25 . IP exemptions go a lot smoother when the required information is provided. Also the number of petitions we get where people clearly have not read this sticky and fail to provide basic information we need to research things is quite frankly embarrassing. IP Exemption: This is for requesting to be exempt from the limit of 1 connection per IP Address. You may request exemption if you have more than 1 real person playing from the same IP. When posting for this, please include the account names of every person that will be playing from the same IP, as well as the identities (real first names) / relations to those players, and please make sure that at least one character has been created under each account. Please verify the spelling of each account you specify. This format works best: Real first name - Relationship - Loginserver Account Name
If you fail to provide us the format we have requested it will delay your request.
If you have requested an IP Exemption in the past please provide those accounts too.
This will fix the "Temporary IP ban" error.


2) Provide previous IP exemptions you have gotten in the past if any (failure to do so will slow down your new request as we will respond asking you to list your previous exemptions)

3) IP exemptions are account based not server based, they also don't expire. If you have standing IP exemptions on Blue provided you are using the same accounts for Green you are already good to go

4) IP exemptions are not for boxing (duh) or quick swapping between characters. We are going to start issuing warnings on this (Yes we can see it). Abusing IP exemptions for quick swapping between characters is going to start getting warnings and IP exemptions removed. 5) Use common sense - If you already have a paragraph long list if IP exemptions then keep using those. Yes we realize people put different characters on different accounts (I do so myself) But that doesn't mean you need an IP exemption on every single one nor does it mean are we likely to grant it. A few IP exemptions is all anyone really needs to play with their family / friends. (TLDR; limit your requests if you have a lot of accounts to the ones most important to you and your family/friends that you want to play together)

For all those players who already include required information when they fill out petitions thank you, it saves us time and allows us to process things more quickly

I wonder how many IP exemption people have crippled and/or disease ridden family members who just HAVE to play P99

will staff not give a fuck if known brothers are playing together using vpns to bypass the crazy shit/extra work load for u guys if we just use vpn's like last time? We had so many level 60s bis and new chars at that time we had to keep getting exemptions and just was really awful. and then they limited to only having 3 exempt accounts per 1 person when each of us had about 30 accounts each set up for various spots. My experience was on red i dno if that matters if ip exemptions will be handled differently on green or blue for that matter that im able to get an exemption quick enough before i leveled 2 more max level toons.

If im coming off as an asshole im really not trying, im just wondering how this is going to work for the big time brothers that power game coming onto green, i personally know quite of few of us are out there. I was wondering if with a new launch there might be some sort of better system for IP exemptions due to this kind of stuff for a 3rd launch.

also nothing mentioned about how many IP exemptions is each person limited to are or are they unlimited?


edit: i understand to alot of you this might sound stupid, but for someone who is coming to green to compete at the highest level of everquest players, when it's time for your brother to switch around diff chars, or make another character for that matter, when you are racing against another group of people. This can severely impact many factors like even a guilds that are competing at that level knowing brothers will not be able to switch and make new characters at the same rate as others are expected it will hamper recruitment for people that require exemptions at the higher end.

Attempts to bypass the 1 login per user could result in actions being taken against your account. Follow the ip exemption procedure as described in the first post in this thread.

I advise against using a vpn or hotspot. The staff do check up on players, don't put yourself in a situation you'll regret. They know what suspicious behavior looks like.

Re:most, between my accounts, wife’s accounts and other accounts I can still access I think I can get up to... 6 maybe? It used to be more like 20+.

Roommate and I tried playing tonight. We're able to log in with one of us on blue and the other on green, but not both of us on green. So apparently, it didn't carry over.
