What Do We Do?

With the launch of Green tomorrow, some friends and I are ramping up to play.

Is there anything we need to do to prep for the launch? Any patch files we're going to need etc?

We already have the game setup and logging into Blue making sure our UI's are good, testing a few classes to see what we are going to go into Green launch with.

If you can log on blue it doesnt mean it will work for green. From my understanding the files are a bit different. What i did was copy paste my eq folder inside my sony and made a new seperate launcher for green. Make sure you log on green to see if it works. You can also set your char UI up and keys to save a bit of time.

No one said it would. We are saying that if you play on green beta, you can set up your UI ahead of time.

I'm just trying to help. Obviously we can test our UI's on green. That's not what the OP said at all.

All I'm doing is clarifying that just because your UI works on blue, it does not mean that it will work on green. So yes, make sure to test it on the green beta server.

The UI on beta is quite different then blue been a lot of change too. I'm sure Rogean will let us know which patch to use for green.

Login to Green Beta and create a character. Set up your UI there. Your UI settings will be saved to UI_<character name>_P1999Green.ini

That looks like the same naming format Green will use, so your UI setting should just automatically carry over when Green goes live, as long as its the same character name. If the character name is different then rename the file to match.

AND, even if you don't get the name, you can just copy and paste your UI contents into your new character's UI file.

I left back in 2011 and deleted my characters. When I came back, the names of my characters are no longer available, so I cannot make them on blue anyway. They were available in Green beta though.

Not to mention, I am not going to create another folder just to log into blue and get a name. It's not worth it to me. Most people that have two folders right now are having issues with the game.

I keep one game install and I have two patch folders open. I copy and paste the files from the patches into the main folder depending on which server I want. It's just a control-a, control-c, and control-v and confirm overwrite.

Hey! Yeah I remember your name. I'm excited to be back. When I was playing before I was just too far behind the curve to get in any steady groups for my level. So I played 3 rounds of TLPs.

Others are saying I'm dumb to play Everquest again. My response is there is nothing out game wise that is any good, including those game's communities. P99 community has so many awesome people playing. I have always had a good experience playing, so many helpful high level players. If I'm going to invest my days in a game it will be the Green launch.

Thanks again for all the helpful advice everyone. I will see you ingame, I'll be playing a druid, it is what I know and good at playing. If I'm not sleeping I will be living in Norrath once again. :) *waves*
