Project 1999: Green information and reminders, please review

With the opening of Project 1999: Green, I would like to go over a few things since we are going to have a large influx of new players. First, please review our Play-Nice-Policy which is located here (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325349). The PNP/rules will carry over from Blue to Green with some minor changes. After much discussion, the CSR staff has decided to enforce a few things which we have become lenient on, as well as reduce the length for certain PNP suspensions. The violations will be adjusted as needed after the first few months of the (green) server. Please review the following;

Boxing

As Senior Guide Menden has recently pointed out here (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336524), we will be enforcing the no-boxing policy hard on Green. The first time you are caught, it will be an automatic lifetime ban of the associated accounts (previously, it was a 30 day suspension).

Reimbursements

Item reimbursements will be handled the same way they are done on Blue and Red (via petition forum), with some minor adjustments. There are still no reimbursements for MQs (Multi-Quests). There are going to be no item reimbursements for dropped items for at least the first few months of Green. These type of reimbursements are extremely time consuming and I'm sure the staff will have their hands full. Be careful drop trading your items, as this will be done at your own risk. Each reimbursement petition will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and will be a judgment call by staff. We have a limited crew, and I don't want them spending a ton of time on items that can be easily replaced by the player. Just a reminder, we never reimburse currency.

Guilds

Running #guild commands with large amounts of players online at once has the potential to cause the server to lag, and some zones could desync. We will evaluate this and allow guild creations as we are able, but it may not happen on Day 1. Additionally, if you are requesting a guild creation with a name that already exists on Blue, that will need to be done by the current Leader of that guild. If you would like to request a Guild creation, please refer to our petition (https://www.project1999.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25) section located on the forums. Remember, a Guild creation requires a minimum of 5 players, so make sure to include their names in your petition.

Play-Nice-Policy Violations

With the release of Green, we have decided to adjust our suspension policy, especially considering we will have a lot of new players not familiar with our current system. If you are caught in a violation, you will be issued a warning to start. After that, it will be a 24 hour suspension, which then doubles with each additional infraction (2 days, 4 days, etc). The duration may be handled differently though, depending on the severity of each infraction. Please play nicely.

The Naming Policy

With a new server comes the opportunity to enforce our naming policy to the best of our ability. If you are informed by a Guide that your name is in violation, please do your best to comply with their wishes. While we have let some names go in the past, we are going to do our best to adhere to the policy on Green. I'm looking at you, Taylorswift.

I thought the name was cool like, having the nick-name Lightningbolt... But like, in character for Norrath.

Descriptive compound words are allowed in first names and are encouraged in surnames (e.g. Treehugger, Giantslayer).

That was me, I think, having doubts about Jibartik's desired name. I haven't looked at the P99 name policy in a fair number of years so either my memory is rusty (easily possible) or it's been modified since last I looked. Seems like it'd fly according to what's posted now, and now is all that matters.

haha its just that, while working on the ui that little name seemed to grow on me. Then the story of a young 17 year old necromancer, beguiled by those cool purple robe, joins a cult.

Then, I kidna realize how this cool cult is like, a death cult.. .and start thinking that I should maybe go and join up as an informant for the Knights of truth, because after finding out that they poisoned all those women and children, ugh I thought we were just like, into diseases and stuff, not like killing people!

So out of anger, I set my sights on the west, and move to my uncles house way out in Freeport, where he introduces me to Innoruk, and all the cool darkelf city and wonder.

And then I just exp as that guy who lived that story and I think about that while I fall asleep in my little bed.

You cannot, ever, ever have more than one character on a server at a time. This would be absolutely considered boxing.

You can drop an item and then log over to your other toon. The item could totally poof on you though so just do it for small time shit like cap recharges.

I’ve never had an item poof on me and I’ve crashed plenty of times between logging in to ground swap items. People will tell you this isn’t safe but if you are careful enough I think it’s perfectly effective.

Teal went live Nov 3rd, and they had the /move set for two weeks. Seems it ended yesterday; probably around when MrPanther posted.

I'm guessing disabling the /move was automatic, whereas the login message is a manual process that hasn't been updated yet.

Have you not read the guidebook??? Technically, they're probably right. The guidebook says you need to have LOS/aggro range for it to constitute a camp except for a few exceptions where staying there is not feasible (Sebilis Spore King and Karnor Captain are listed as examples). According to the guidebook, if you were there first, and they show up wanting to take one of the multiple camps you were holding, then you would get to choose which camp you want and they would choose theirs.

That seems pretty bogus. If you leave the camp, I think you give up the camp. I can promise you I will never bother another players camp, but if they get up and leave then the next player waiting gets it.

In short, you can absolutely leave a camp, sell, and come back (keeping your camp) ... as long as you don't leave the zone and you make it back from selling before the mob respawns.

Essentially once you kill a mob, its respawn is your's ... unless you leave the zone or die.

If he comes back before the respawn and doesn't leave the zone it's still his camp. The ooc doesn't establish anything except perhaps being nice to others to tell them not to waste time traveling there if he will be back well before the respawn occurs

Yeah I love the staff here and am very sympathetic to them and thankful for all they do for us, but this was the one where I was like "..." how can you just let that slide? Most other people would be banned for that outright

the reason furor/eashen and others got away with running bots and macroquest early in the server life is they were directly from rogeans inner circle when he raided live everquest and were his IRL personal friends

he basically made this server to play with those people

So, as I understand it Green is cyclical? Now that Green has 'caught up' to blue, it's going to restart(and I assume players on Green now will be 'merged' over to Blue?). If that's the case, what's the timeline for this? I'd like to get in at the start for my foray into p99 :D

We sadly don't know timeline. We are waiting announcement. Green will merge into Blue is their plan though. Atm can start on blue or green to just get feel for server.

Ideal Green 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 all shutdown permanently on the day Luclin would normally release or within a month or 2 of said timeline. :cool:
