Creating a Character - Names Rejected?

Howdy folks. I'm trying to create a character on green and all the names that I typically use are being rejected. Is this a server issue and should I wait it out or is it me?

Names are unique and only 1 person can have any given name. Keep trying names.

Question - are you using the same account as your blue server that you have those names? Names are reserved if they are the same as a blue account, I believe.

I was able to get the name I wanted first try.

I was having this issue too. I was able to get names on Green beta, but upon trying to get them on blue i was denied, and then also denied on green beta after deleting the character to recreate the name as a different class.

I also couldnt create that name on blue or green today!

Someone stole my name! or its broken or whatever.

If somebody else but you has that name on blue yap you won't be able to choose it.I suppose there is some name with certain connotation that are unavailable also. Beside that you should be ok.

I was able to get names on Green beta
You never had those names. Green Beta was wiped.

either way, someone has proper Hefeweizen spelling and it annoys me greatly. But I shall drink my beer and forget about it and move on!

10 years of inactive blue characters have stolen any name you might ever hope to get without adding or altering letters. for instance, a friend used a name i used in live eq 15 years ago on his p99 blue account. he hasnt played in 6 years. i still cant use that name on p99 green. pretty dumb. but stealing name imposters is the kind of thing ya gotta worry about on the internets.

They did a low level toon purge recently which freed up a lot of names but still, you won't be able to get something very common just because of how many toons there still are on blue.

You have to get a bit creative but there are still good names out there since the purge. That really helped a ton.

still plenty of great names out there. I got Daywatcher and Nightwalker just 5 mins ago.

If you can't remember the old account information you may have used on Blue which has your old character names, is there any way to retrieve that info? Is it the eqemu account?

its not the eqemu account but you may be able to find your login server account information from within your eqemu account
