View Full Version : You get some sort of visible warning for missing AFK checks?
Pretty simple. Need answer.

You are not in range of a list to join.
You have been added to the list.
You are already on a list. You are position 1.
You have left your item list zone. If you do not return to the camp within 900 seconds, you will be removed from the list.
Sorry I don't have an answer for failing the afk check. :(
I'm hoping it works where hwen you do finally click, then the yellow warning pops up. otherwise the warning could be spammed off the screen.

There is no warning in chat that warns that you're about to fail an afk check.
Unless they changed it since beta, it's just the box that pops up as part of the regular afk checks. If you let it sit for 3-5 min or so (also appeared to be variable when I tested it), it fails. Then you get a message for failing the check.
As Baler mentioned, there are however chat messages warning that you have left range and a countdown has started.
No warning? Why? Ya litterally get a warning for going too far from camp and another reminder when you return to it...

The box that pops up to prompt you to click "OK" is visible.
If there was a message in chat, we could use GINA or GamParse to make a "ding" sound while we watch a movie or work out or cook food IRL. Alas, we must actually look at the Everquest screen.
As for me, I watched some YouTube in a window smaller than my EQ screen and I positioned the AFK check box so I could see it when it appeared. Would that solution work for you?

Click the box. Do /list. If it says you're Position X on the list, you're on the list.

The AFK checks are there so people can't AFK at the camp and make the list a mile long. Don't AFK and you won't get booted.
It's really not complicated.

the afk check box stays up until you click ok. if you dont click ok the box stays up until another afk check occurs, in which you fail and are removed from the list.

I asked a very simple question; if you don't know the answer don't respond, and certainly don't if you are going to post bogus information. Who knows how many people got screwed because some moron on this thread said that a second AFK window would pop up if you missed first.

Hello, we have a few spots left in our premade we would like to fill. This is not a guild - simply a premade group designed to alleviate wasted time LFG the first few weeks. The following schedule does not depict breaks - expect that we will include a 1 hour lunch and 1-2 hour dinner break on each day we start prior to 6PM.
Our Schedule (All times listed in Central Time):
25th: Release - 2AM
26th: 8AM - 2AM
27th: 8AM - 8PM
28th: 6PM - 11PM
29th: 6PM - 11PM
30: 6PM - 11PM
31: 6PM - 11PM
1: 6PM - 2AM
2: 8AM - 2AM
3: 8AM - 8PM
After this point we will reassess our status and transition to a 3-4 night a week schedule for those who wish to continue as a group.

You dont get any warning besides the fact the AFK check box is still on your screen.
Get rid of it or risk a second one appearing which removes you from the list.

Bc the instance a second box would appear (with a first box still remaining) you are removed from list thusly no box would even need to be there physically bc you are not on any lists that the boxes function with.
