Not sure if this is worth posting on the "bugs" forum, so I figured I would just ask here real quick first.

I've looked around the p99 forums and other various websites and haven't really got a straight answer. As a monk, when u fd and it says "so and so has fallen to the ground", I understand that it failed. When u fd and it has no message at all, I have understand that's when it is successful. I've noticed a lot from lvl 20-40 now that even when fd is suppose to be "successful" that stuff will still beat me to death. I stand up, fd again and it continues to happen. Sometimes I have to take a beating till the 4th or 5th fd before it actually works. The entire time never receiving a "so and so has fallen to the ground" message. I'm not talking about stuff pathing off and weird LoS or anything, just purely FD seeming to fail. Skill is at 190ish and still continues to do this as of last night. Might be a noob monk question, but I figure it might just be a weird monk mechanic I can't find on the net? Wanted to get a little feedback before I went to the bugs/mechanics forum :)

Thanks guys and gals

You need to turn of attack before you Fd.

Yep, this is your problem. If a caster lands a nuke on you after you FD, it will break as well.

Have you always had to turn attack off? I must not have noticed this since I play a necro and never have attack on to begin with...

I remember making a macro for it back in the day.

Since I too am approaching FD level, what is the command to turn off attack?

I know that FD is /doability#
I also used to add sense-heading into it as well.

yes, you HAVE to turn autoattack off, or it will always fail.

Thx guys. Was under the impression it just automatically turned off when I hit the dirt. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it now :)

Yeah back in the day when grouping monk I was, I had evade macro:

/attack off
/FD
/stand
/attack on

wording may be off, but that was the idea. some put a pause in after /fd and standing...I never did and did fine in getting rid of aggro.

This was my understanding of it as well, but does this only apply to direct damage spells?

I believe its only damaging spells, IE Nukes and Dots...Debuffs don't seem to cause them to reagro.

If you resist the damage spell they won't reagro as well.
