How to deal with camp stealers?

Have had run ins with quit a few un named "pals" that waltz into zone. Claim your camp is now there camp.

Never a gm on obviously and petition dosen't work.

At this point im tempting to train. Getting really really frustrated with this. I was at a spot today for 8 hrs. Some necro/mage team comes into zone. Dosen't camp check. Blins straight for me. Then takes it over. I could train but i just logged.

Are we going the no rules route. Screenshots, and screenshots of the convo with these guys won't help. It proves nothing. Then they ooc in chat that im taking there mobs when i attempt to ks back.

This server is too small to fight like this. But there are some asshats here. How do i deal with this.

Srsly about rdy to train some people till they eat a handful of xp deaths. But i ll end up getting banned.

I was litterly forced to log today. I could train and prob win back my camp but i dont wanna sick to this lvl. But if this continues and with lack of gm support. I think thats my only option.

Shits making me rage. Due to accusers telling ooc i was stealing "there camp".

Either way, they took the camp (created problem), and you logged (solved problem). What's the issue again?

If someone zones into SolB and does a camp check, and you don't answer it, then they spend the next 20 minutes building a group, then 20 more minutes fighting down to the camp, to find that you're there and only keeping the camp half clear....

The camp is claimed by the player currently at the camp (whether they answered the shout for a camp check or not). You could theoretically work something out with the player not being able to kill all of the spawns in the camp, but you would have no right to tell 'em to eff off.

Like; sitting on unrest 2nd floor at the fireplace, killed the Reclusive ghoul magi 2 times during the day, and bang, a couple level 35 chars PLing a friend run into the room, gank the name, sit down, and start pulling everything they can while we med up.

This was in Misty Thicket. The Halfing Guards. The level 32 druid and level 33 Necromancer were claiming all 8 spawns.

We asked them to share considering 6 were up at a time while they kited for 45 seconds per kill. They said they claimed the whole wall. I said you can't claim 2 camps especially when theres still 6 mobs up while you're killing one.

I told them to choose top towers or archs (designated camps). They said we choose EVERYTHING ASSHOLES!

So we took the arch since all 4 guards were up and they still had 4 on their side. This is when Legend started fearing our mobs and trying to KS us. Silly Necro, you can't KS me. After that he tried to train us.

YES.... it does matter. Why? Because the OP asked for advice. I'm not going to give advice based on unknowns. Just because he claims he's holding a camp, if he's not keeping it cleared, then he's NOT holding the camp. I could run a rogue to nagafen and say it's camped, but it's not. So specifics do matter.

This happened to me three times creating lguk groups only to spend 30 min getting a group together and another 20 getting down to the camp only to find an AFK enchanter sitting there holding it down after 3+ camp checks. I guess with the charm changes they are having a harder time? maybe time to try again.

It doesn't matter if it's an experience camp or a loot camp. A camp is a camp. If a player is camping an area, but is unable to clear an area nearby (named or not), then you can proceed to that uncleared area. The player can't claim they're camping them and not killing them, especially if said area is fully spawned.

And your Nagafen example is flawed because there's already established rules regarding raids.

You are entitled to your camp for as long as you stay at that camp actively killing the mobs....if you are not actively killing mobs then GTFO...or atleast share the camp with others who CAN kill the mobs without 10minutes worth of med every pull.

If someone is stealing a camp YOU are camping (not a camp that you were pulling from while you camp a different spot or a camp that you left to go do something whether AFK or to sell or whatever), feel free to train them and get them the fuck out.

Hey that happened to me a couple days ago as well in unrest. Think it was a druid pling a cleric.

Anyway imo if you don't respond to a CC then you aren't camping it. I hate people who don't respond to a CC. Although, I have never been able to make myself steal a camp from someone who doesn't respond.

Also, if you have a camp and you declare that camp in any CC and someone comes and takes it anyway, I say its fair game to train and KS or whatever.

you play for 15hrs straight and sometimes not sleeping till a day later or 2 and your gonna scream into ooc when your waking up having your coffeee and jacking one off

You don't have to kill all the npc's for any camp, if your camping a named and nothing else aggro's to you your still camping the named. Don't like it? Fuuuuuck you!

Now with regards to camps: If someone KS's you, train them, if you can't train them there follow them and do so till' you can again they picked the fight and I say Fuuuuuck you! Hahaha!

If someone tries to steal your camp and dies in the process, train them repeatedly for being a dumbass, and tell them Fuuuuuck you!

Force. Undeniable, unbeatable, unstoppable force. I came to this server as a nice person, and forgot how much of an ass I became in 1999, shoulda known I'd become one again. But, this is a fact its EQ, live or classic or Emu, or whatever Ks'in, Trainin' Campin' and Dyin' is gonna happen.

Now how do the GM's feel about it? I personally think they don't give a flyin' fuck, or some of my petitions would have been addressed along time ago, lol, hence I am once again an ass, not that I care one way or the other. They got bigger fish to fry, The Hole, Kunark, Velious and all the bugs that come with it, honestly they should let the guilds train the livin fuck out of each other while raid'n its more fair that way, sooner or later someone is always gonna outsmart and overpower the big guy on the top of the mountain.

yeah camp stealing has become a big problem lately because players just don't care about others. This is a fairly small community so we really need to try and stick together and help each other out. I get a ton of tells about camps being stolen from someone in my guild, and sometimes about someone in my guild stealing a camp. It just takes a little reasoning typically. There really is A LOT of camps for almost any lvl range, so no reason to fight over it. I remember in live playing with double and triple this many people in classic and having the same problems, I'm sure with this limited number of people we can work it out.

I would suggest to anyone who camp steals to remember that it reflects your guild badly and people always find out. This server is like a small town, everyone knows your business. And specifics do matter to an extent, but if a guy is obviously at a spawn killing it and the surrounding mobs, leave them be...

And for the record, trains get you banned, so I wouldn't do to that, just see if you can't call in some support/help. Send me or a guildie a tell in Gothic Circle, we will try and help you out, I HATE camp stealer's with a passion.

About 10 years ago we were killing picklaws in Highkeep and a higher level guy showed up and was able to KS our entire group and totally rubbed our faces in it.

I started fearing all his kills which would then run upstairs to the guards and be killed.

He called in someone to help him.

So did I.

2 hours later they gave up and left as we mocked and taunted them, barely 1/3 their levels.

I was the bigger AH that day.

Ahhh, good times, good times.
