Is there a list somewhere of non-classic changes? Eg, whirl til you hurl meganerf, manastone spawn rates, selos doesnt break root (was this just on Red?), item links, /gems, /note, item links, etc?

Pet window, UI, ivandyrs hoop, rez staff, AE limit, rooted dragons, faction wars, bard tash/ds stacking, double bolts
Lifetaps get resisted more. A ton of exp turn-in quests that were cheesable are nerfed (nuts, chips, scalps). Tons of unprovable ???-things, like the resist rates, NPC spellcasters having access to their entire spellbook, weapon proc rates.

The player base in 1999 wasn't a bunch of lawyerquesting angry nerds at level 10.
People on sub 100 ping bard kiting like it was always that way.

Have you read the newsgroups at all? Do you remember Whineplay? Lol.
Every other post is/was a "BRAD rEaD tHiS" class whine.

I know the Verant forums got a little spicy, and it was the first place I'd ever seen someone use the word "trolling" in the way we know it.
But in game? Players were much friendlier, no question. There's still some of that here on P99, but there's a culture of nastiness that never hit the servers I played on.
The internet in general is less friendly, that said.

Should we get a Wiki page going on this stuff? This is a lot.
Pet window isn't in green, btw

Magicite on red was the first person I'd seen overcharging for items and justifying it saying he was "brokering it for a friend" so if anyone wanted it they had to pay his broker cost...that's not a very classic way to trade, can we add it? :p

I always am dubious when I hear claims of "overcharging". If a player is charging more than others, then buy from someone else.
If they are the seller with the lowest price, it sounds like they are charging what the market will bear to me. Players who complain about overcharging, what do they charge when they are selling their phat loot?

Swish still salty that he was poor on Red and that I wouldn't lower my prices ;p

Surprisingly true. People often associate EQ as a game where your reputation matters, but some of the top guilds have featured extremely toxic notorious players well known for griefing and training people, and these guilds celebrated them as heroes who got them the top mobs by getting their hands dirty.
I'd probably blame the existence of RnF.

But it's very Blue-focused: people need to update it with all the Green stuff. To get the ball rolling I added a new section to the top for that stuff:

You can only AoE 4 mobs at a time as a Bard. This wouldn't be so bad, and hasn't been, until you reach 30 and realise the single target DoT's aren't in the game yet either.

That one actually is classic, and you can see as much on http://wiki.project1999.com/Patch_Notes#September_13.2C_1999.
The Blue 25-mob limit on the other hand is "unclassic" ... although it's an approximation of other classic limitations, such as high latency.

* Spell particles start @ the lvl 24 versions (tier 2 of 3).
* You can't drop coin (which was a fun combo with minor illusion)

You can blame all the people supporting them tbh.
If toxic scum are abandoned, they are just a few people. It's the 80 people behind them that enable it.
Or everyone is actually greedy and toxic.
Think on it.
