All I see on green is the same old uncreative guild names from blue. This shouldn't surprise me, as they are most certainly 90% the same folks.

So what's the difference? Venerate, Seal Team, Asgard, you name it - these kids will legit shit on your icecream cone for their "rights" to pixels, their "rights" to camps. You can provide proof of their wrongdoings to guides/GM's in the form of videos/logs... but I've yet to see anyone get in trouble for things.

So if green is the wild west; where camps do not exist and mercilessly training entire groups for camps is considered normal .... what is teal in comparison?

If you are from green and triggered at the idea that you joined some lame duck guild from blue... maybe bow out of this one. But if you turn purple in the face and your nipples are twitching in anger I suppose you can post. Like legit whoever thought of "Seal Team" was priceless. 10 points for a new name, - 10 points for the uncertain visuals in my brain. I'm picturing a bunch of floppy seals on a beach rushing a treasure chest.... not manly warriors YO.

This guys my favorite from green so far:

I guarantee you that the members of this guild more closely resemble actual seals and manatees more than they do actual Navy Seals.

This forum displays much more toxicity than I have seem in my limited time playing on green. I really should stop reading these, but it does provide some entertainment. After reading here, I expect to find nothing but craters when I log into game, but I find ... EQ. It's not classic. You simply cannot create the atmosphere of 1999. The sense of mystery and the unknown is gone, and instead you have:
1) People really trying to experience it again with a fresh start
2) Min/Max-ers who aren't playing the game and are instead trying to beat the game
3) Newbies that don't seem to want to learn to play the game and instead want to see what all the fuss is about.

Nothing really toxic from any of these groups in particular. But definitely less groups, more soloing than was perhaps present in 1999. But still, certainly not as toxic (in my experience) as people are in these forums. Once I log in, my fear of toxicity goes away and I play the game.

You are a brave soul. Just wait, most of the toxicity comes not from grouping but when you venture out to do stuff with 1-2 friends or duo, or solo.

My extremely unscientific observation is that the majority of drama-related forum threads seem to pertain to Green unless players are using that as a generic term for either server.

I examined both. Everyone seems to get along super nice on teal. I dont know about green but teal 100% has mostly new unique guild names not from blue. Even dial a port is barely there compared to green

The major idiots on teal so far have been the later transfers. Over all teal has a nice group of people, but that become much more polluted closer to the transfer deadline. I’d say green still has the majority of them.

Well I usually feel a bit strange on the forums with all your weird concepts and doublespeak lingo and strange esperanto like phrases, but from my part my experience in green has been quite positive.

Have I been trained, KSed and sometimes seen slurs, anger and people calling each other names and some strange sexual innuendo within and outside groups?

Yes of course, but overall my experience leans towards the positive.

I think the forums themselves seem more toxic than the actual game, but then again I am not camping or getting in line for the best xp or phat l00tz or spots or mobs, I am just enjoying my time leveling in places I never leveled before because I just want to explore the game and enjoy the peace and quiet of new areas.

Thus I have avoided HHK like the plague, or the vaccine because I am a Bertie Necro, and other "hotspots" to avoid the drama, I know it exists, but cant really say Green is Toxic.

If I have seen toxic stuff is people asking me weird personal questions in game or telling me strange stuff that actually makes me stop in place and stare oddly at the monitor, but I am being used to that as I honestly worked for years in a Psychiatric Hospital plus my last job was direct support to alcoholics online.

But toxic stuff like ninja looting and being trained? not so much.

Just dont believe the toxic atmosphere is that big, I am not saying it does not exist, but it can be kept at bay.

Here, all of you have a virtual hug

What's the gnome population on each server? Your answer is there - the one with the most gnomes.

dear LiveJournal...I dunno I gotta confess I did 14-50 on teal (first day transfer) without grouping with another soul... except one mage that wandered into CT when I was recovering from a gator bail. Gave him an eb and had the poor guy follow me into the gator pool for a couple hours before he left. Nice guy tho. Oh ya and the other night I invited and made a necro heal me while I manastone recovered because I felt bad killing all of the 8 specs. well he helped

At around 44 I started communicating with other druids to check in and rotate around the viable quad spots. Had to talk because we all went anon to avoid port requests (there's more of us out there than we want you to know....), but ended up becoming actual pals with them over time. All very cool and normal folks who shared camps and kept lists for openings

Only had one very bad experience but I think that guy caught a vacay for ignoring camp rules to multiple of us druids so I won't name and shame. He already doin his time for it to the best of my knowledge

teal has been chill overall if you walk that lovely lonely druid path. Can't speak of green or of much else on teal

Chanters in general seem to be the most toxic population. They seem to be ones leapfrogging full groups to steal named mobs etc (IMO)

When a group is pulling 6 camps it's hardly a leapfrog

Teal has been cool in my experience. Even had a druid split Dyllin Starshine with me and roll for the page since neither of us could kill him fast enough solo to avoid adds. Despite me being originally second in line, he stuck by his word when I won the roll and let me loot the page.

Teal's been full of good guys so far. A couple of people bitching about trains in unrest but are generally understanding when somebody owns up to it in ooc.

I had seen enough toxic shit on Green, and most of it came from one guild. That guild grew by pulling in good people from other guilds, and in turn some of those people turned into toxic asshats. It amazed me how joining a bunch of toxic asshats can in turn turn you into a toxic asshat.

I left to join Teal and I have met great people, and had zero issues with toxic asshats.

If you want toxic free, join Teal.

That stuff is all about the camps and mobs that drop the very best/most profitable items. There are huge heaping buttloads of exp and fun to be had in places other than those. You then go to EC and pay what I think of as a jerkass-avoidance tax and buy the very best stuff if you must.

Also focusing on those areas and mobs means following a pretty narrow path leveling that will be very similar class to class. There is a very big world out there to explore, and unless your focus is end game, you're not in a race with anyone or anything.

Lastly, there are actually (IMO) very few situations where having the very best item in slot X is going to make a huge difference over having the second best item. If you find waiting a lot, clicking the same buttons over and over for two hours, and spending hours in forum/online pissing matches with others to be entertaining, also known as raiding, then unfortunately you'll have to deal with some of the toxicity to get the gear required to be of use in that context.

Otherwise, find some other friendly low-stress people (there are lots) and have a great time.

At 35+ there are very few places to level, and it gets worse at 40 and 45.

Leveled my first character on Green, met a bunch of nice people. Leveling my 2nd character on Teal, also meeting a bunch of nice people. Try putting some positivity out into the server and see if you get some in return instead of just complaining about neckbeards and poopsockers ruining your life on our dumb pixelquest nostalgia server.

I have met a small handful of toxic and/or argumentative people on both servers. I try to squash beef if people think I'm being a jerk @ them, sometimes they are willing to be chill with me, sometimes not but you can't be everybody's friend. Just move on with your life, report the worst people and let the GMs sort them out.

Toxic people hang out in toxic areas with other toxic people, then come to the forums to rant about how someone else was better at being toxic than they are.

I've kept to the path less traveled and have had very little drama. I've given up camps to someone else because they could use it more, and have had higher lvls at the edge of a camp being green do the same for me. Been killing guards in WK recently, and seemed like a lot of lower lvls having fun forming groups, almost no drama.

Teal really has been pretty awesome. I've only had one issue with an ass since making the switch. Teal feels very community oriented to me. Much more so than green or even blue. I've been impressed with it so far and kinda secretly wish they keep green and teal separate forever!)

That's true, I was forgetting we're pre-Kunark where all paths converge at CT and other places. What I would do having lived through the original train every 3.2 minutes Cazic is park any character around 30 until we get to Kunark where those choke points go away.

newsflash no one levels in CT. They got to SolA, Unrest, Mistmoore, HHK

No bad experiences on Green so far. But, that was also true on Blue until I got into my 50s and began to be in range of The Raid Scene.. I suspect I'm just too far behind the BiS crowd to feel the toxic as of yet.

Also agree with earlier poster about the forums being waaaay more toxic than the actual game.

This times 1000.

Of course, forums tend to attract the nattering neighbobs of negativism. Go to a forum for a classic movie, and you'll find at least half the posts are trashing it. So it goes on the internet.
