Weapon advice for a new rogue

I am returning to eq after more than a decade and want to play a rogue.

I was wondering what are some good lowbie rogue weapons. I remember large snake fangs being decent.

From my own experiences with a lowbie (20ish rogue in green) experience, snake fangs are super common but the easiest camp would be Dorns dagger in North Ro, right below freeport if you want a magical weapon!

Got that around level 12, having used before just a trusty snake fang ;)

as an offhand I got a cheap minotaur axe

Since the offhand is tied to how often the dual wielding ability triggers, you better off with a high damage weapon there, the axe works wonders, though I changed to a gnoll hide lariat for fun as I like the whip animation, even if damage is lower hehe.

the dirk is a bit expensive if you dont want to camp it, but the snake fang is actually quite easy to get and can last you for a while

Icon should be the same as Obsidian Shard. I had one on live during classic. Looks like any old dagger when equipped.

Ahh, too bad. Would be hilarious to see the stab animation with a 2h sword graphic.

Forged spear / giant snake fang to start. Replace the snake fang with a dragoon dirk as soon as possible. after that get a polished granite tomahawk swap the dragoon to primary pgt to offhand and chill with that until you get a pike from mistmoore or save up for a gloomwater harpoon / polished steel dirk or somethin.

Jambiya is nice but I also have yet to see Hatar on green so good luck with that. Also if you can convince a tracker to help you crookstinger is also a really good lowbie piercer

I would not use procing weapons, including PGT as they draw aggro and evade isn't even in the game. PGT might be nice for soloing though.

Once planes come out there will be some upgrades, but I forget what is all pre vs post-revamp, and you'll know what you're doing by that point.

You can mix and match from the list, and there are some more exotic pick-ups I left out (esp. for off-hand), but just try to get the highest damage piercer you can get main-hand, and the best ratio you can get off-hand.

Fwiw on Teal I own a Jambiya (bought it) and have seen several for sale. So someone is killing him, at least on teal.
