What race makes the best Saman?

My Necro is level 42 now, and I'm thinking about making a Shaman alt to play around with. Is there one race that makes a better Shaman than the others? Right now I'm thinking either Barbarian, for good city access or Troll for the regen, but I really don't know much about the class.

Most say Troll for the regen when you get to eat yourself later on
Others will say Ogre for the racial stun

But at the end of the day, play whichever one you like the most :)

Not to forget that Iksars also have a regen equivalent to that of the trolls.

The one downside to Iksar is they can't equip/use a Jaundiced Bone Bracer for the clicky.

If you intend on playing your alt straight up without powerlevelling, it's gonna be wicked easy to find mobs to kill and people to kill them with as an Iksar roaming around Field of Bone and Kurns and Lake of Ill Omen, etc.

My Shaman is a troll, I've enjoyed playing him, but were I to do it over again, I'm not sure I'd be the same race.
The special regen is shared with Iksar, Ogre stun immunity was still broken lat I heard (could be fixed, I dunno) and Barbarian is maybe the easiest to lvl, with fewer faction problems and less exp penalty.
In the end, I don't think there's a clear winner, play what waves your flag.
As a Troll/Ogre/Iksar you can kill Bards, Millers, Dwarves, and pretty much every races' guards with wild abandon, cause your faction is already FUBAR. As a Troll, I've trashed Gnome, Dwarf, Halfling, FP, Qeynos, Paineel and Barbarian faction killing their guards and NPC's.

As a Barb you can kill Neriak Guards, Grobb guards, and Oggok guards with that same wonton glee. I suppose you can kill Dwarves, but.... :(

If I were to start over based strictly on gear/bonus it would be barbarian, just for that hammer. Faction at this point seems pretty minor, I'm sure leveling its a little different but 50+ I dont think i have gone back to the mainland other than to ec...

but I hate barbarians, troll would be my #2 with the ability to wear jbb and the +15 regen at 60 also the 2 charge clicky halfling illusion quest.

Ogre 3rd, just because of the fact that frontal stun doesn't work properly otherwise it would be #2

iksar last, no jbb though the regen is nice.

Based on looks Iksar > Ogre > Troll > Barbarian

I never thought 1 extra hp a tick from troll would be worth much if anything, especially once you torpor. For soloing, i would think ogre makes it the easiest, but barbarian also don't get the penalty so maybe it evens out.

the amount of hp/tick goes up as trolls level. its like 18/tick at 60 while a non troll/iksar only gets 8/tick sitting.

Newp, not really.

Personally, its worth the racials over the barb option.

Troll is the best option.

Regeneration combined with JBB use.

If the devs ever acknowledge the bug with snare on the server the Regent Symbol of Innoruuk is huge as well.

Any regen is huge when your HP is almost never at full.
