I heard some news that I wanted to share with everyone here in the community. I was told yesterday that Reep, a friend of mine, a co-leader of my guilds and a person I got to know only because of this game has passed away.
Reep was an extreme competitor. He was someone who was able to go through all through all the ups and downs of all my guilds with me. He was someone who was a massive part of the success my guilds saw. I will never forget all the times we would talk and plan and strategize on how to make the guild better.
He was one of the best players this game has ever seen. He could make plays that would single handedly win us mobs against fierce competition. He did things that me and many others sat back in awe of. Enough to where when we knew we had him logging in, we would almost certainly win whatever contest was going on.
All that means very little now. I, and many others, have lost a great friend. I was lucky enough to get to meet him in real life and have some fun with him for a weekend. He was a genuine person and that showed in game and in real life.
I hope everyone here can pay respect to someone who, for me and many others of my guilds, made this game so much fun. Grouping, learning new tricks, even just chatting in teamspeak. This is a great loss and he will always be remembered by me. I hope everyone can send some prayers for his family and friends from a community that he loved and was a huge part of.
You will be missed Reep.
Rest in Peace, until we meet again

Good guy, tough competitor, loyal to the end. Sad when they go young (early 30s). Reep had a lot of friends spread out over many games. He had a great sense of humor. He loved to play this game. I mean he was down for almost anything. Both a great leader and your best follower. Prone to epic and hilarious fuckups, but still a top .1% P99'r. Also a top tier CS:GO player.

I kinda thought I knew how to monk, and then I saw Reep play. The first time he saved a dropped Vulak with an eyeball from Aary pit (Vulak was almost to Kreizzen), my jaw dropped.
He did things in ToV I still don't understand. The most impressive thing to me, though, was that he did it while cracking jokes and having fun. Didn't really hear him rage or lose his cool. I got to chat with him a couple weeks ago when he was giving away a Ruby Tear just because ("I've got more gear than I need anyway.").
He clearly enjoyed the game, he was damn good at it, and he'll be missed. RIP, brother.

i had a lot of great times with him, sucks there won't be any new ones.
i'd like to say Reep that the one conversation we had has saved me more than damn me.
I'd like to believe a lot of us have felt the ways EQ translates over into our real lives from time to time some . for me it is stronger than most all other games.
Hell the ONLY Jeopardy column i've ever got all of the answers(questions) right is the one pertaining to gems and that is only because of EQ.
Vocabulary, social constructs, experiences with NPC and PC alike. It comes back to it in our head randomly sometimes and most of the time, unless you live with another EQ'er, to say out loud " i learned that from EverQuest.' 'That reminds me of a friend, time, place, era, period, feeling ect in EverQuest' and to never have it hit home for most people.
sucks..
luckily i still have close ones to relate
and we are relating now in unfortunate circumstances
Rest easy Reep
cheers b.

Rest in peace Reep. I had fun playing with you.
I have set up a go fund me page for his family. As of today I am unaware of any cremation or funeral arrangements beyond a "celebrate the life of Justin" his mother has planned. Jozz, Reep, Sheepshop, Stdsrbop "some variant of this one, i forgot what it was but always laughed" are some of the names he would use more often that not
If you feel compelled to donate, or to even spread this link around to help his family out I am certain they will be very appreciative of it. I will be calling his mother tomorrow afternoon as well. Thank you all.

good byes are never easy. Reep was such a good person and always so fun to be around. He was my brother from another mother, the memories I have of him I will cherish for the rest of my life. Good byes are never forever because he will live through us and the stories we share of Reep will keep him apart of this community forever.
Reep! I miss you!

I don't really know how to put my feelings into words but Reep made you feel like you wanted to play better. He was like a team captain of the football team that you wanted to impress.
I never did take that trip 45 min outside of NY to go see him, wish i did looking back. Always talked to Detoxx and Reep that I would come visit them for a weekend and get together. We had just spoke last week and even though we are gaming different games right now, he is always reaching out to find out how we are doing. Even if the conversation was short, this server of P99 brought us lifelong friends.
Wherever you are buddy we love ya and I know in times like these its a reminder that life is short and we should take advantage of the time we have.
Love you Reep

Solid description, Fife.
Worth noting that his place in Blue server's legacy includes being the recipient of the server's first Gharn's as the co-leader of Forsaken, an event that was (possibly) the final straw that led to the Sleeper being woken up.
If you play a Monk in ToV you are probably using pull and split strats that Reep contributed to, or was the sole engineer of. Even with all of the mechanic nerfs that have happened since those days. He was the man.

Justin was one of the players I met when I came over from Indignation back in the Forsaken days. I was a big fish in a small pond coming from Indignation and seeing how well the pull team played in Forsaken made me want to be as good as them. Justin is easily responsible for making me the player I am today.
Justin was fiercely competitive but always friendly and in a good mood, he was happy to share strategies and if you had to pick one player over the life of the server that you would want on your roster it would absolutely be him.
Wish we were still pulling dragons together.

Been thinking a lot about all the fun times we all had sense I heard the news yesterday. After losing a handful of guildies over the years it's always hard. My heart goes out to his family and people who he was close to.
The thing I will remember most about him was that he had the worst FD success of anyone. 2 falls to the ground were common enough it was know as the Double Reep.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Reep's family. I'm very sorry for your loss.
I remember grinding with Reep in KC basement. I wasn't very confident down there as a druid, but he assured me that I could do it. I'm glad I got to play with him. Thank you for the fun times, Reep! May the spirit of the wolf be with you always. Rest in Peace.

Very saddened by this news. Reep was a fantastic player and a really really good dude. He taught me a lot about how to play this game at such a high level and it was really fun playing with him.
I'll never forget some of the magic he would pull off in ToV salvaging dirty pulls. And he made it look so effortless.
Rest in peace, Reep.

I first met Reep when Kunark came out, we instantly became friends.I never got the pleasure of meeting him RL. Me and Reep would literally do 48 hour straight King camp duo's/Trios with Solunar and sometimes Detoxx would crash the party lol. He taught me so much about the game and I always wanted to impress/play better whenever we were together.
From spending countless hours tracking with him, to staying up all night talking on teamspeak, to the 18 hour straight ToV raids then 10 more hours in sleepers. To the countless hours of duoing.
I won't say goodbye,
See you later man.

Found this video i had saved. This was when velious first launched and we were in HoT for almost 8 hours and Detoxx kept bitching about people going afk. Detoxx went afk without telling anybody so we brought up the idea to train Detoxx and Reep screamed "YES" and everybody moved out of the room while Reep trained Detoxx. G

Damn.
I heard the news yesterday and had to come back to pay my respects.
I kinda quit EQ a while back and hadnt looked back but this sad news made me upset. Thinking about all the late nights I sat up with reep and just shot the shit while waiting for mobs to spawn.
Really was a good dude, and I'll miss him for sure. Eq is one of those games where the friends you make online are cherished. Reep was one of those friends.
Rest in peace buddy, hopefully they have EQ in gamer heaven.

Lazie here. I remember the early days of Velious. Before the zone in pulls. Forsaken was a small guild at the time. Everything we did in ToV had to be precise. Things couldn't be pulled or done incorrectly or our numbers wouldn't support it. There was one guy Feigning with me up into that monster of a zone and not making mistakes consistently. There was one guy teaching me things as I taught him things in the zone. There was one guy learning the tricks to succeed with me. It was Reep.
There were other Monks in the guild trying and putting in effort and they deserve praise as well but Reep was simply one of the best at the time. He was the go to guy when what had to happen had to be clutch and couldn't be fucked up. Me and Him didn't always see eye to eye but that is the great thing about people you get to know through gaming. You start treating each other like family. You'd argue with the person one minute and fiercely defend them to someone else the next. When they are as loyal and as tough as Reep. They become your brother.
I will miss periodically hearing from Reep. The times they happened were too few and too far between. I wish there was more time to sit down and talk with the guy again. He is missed.

He was a very pleasent person to hear in Voice chat. He really had a gift to make people feel at ease in the guild. He was one of the people that transformed a bunch of guys trying to kill dragon into something that felt like a family and I was very thankfull for that when I joined Forsaken.
Not to forget about his great ability to lead a raid.
If his family read those messages, be certain that many people who knew him misses him as well. That fact that we interact from behind a screen and voice communication does not mean that we do not get to know people and develop feelings for them.
Sad news really.

Very Sad news indeed as I've just learned.
As others have already stated, Reep was truly extraordinary. His personality was charming, his tone of voice and commands during raids exuded calmness and confidence, EQ IQ was off the charts and he certainly put in the work to prove or disprove a new method. When Forsaken was still young and struggling to win raid targets, Reep was The go-to-guy to ensure a mob made it to camp. Everyone's attitudes were more positive and the guild was so much better off when he was around; you wanted to do better, simply put. His demeanor was infectious and truly made the game more enjoyable. He was a major factor in Forsaken tamping down the screws on Rampage and forcing them to wake the Sleeper, all in just a very short few months.
Outside of raiding, he'd help anyone with anything at anytime. The type of man that would take the shirt off his back and give it to you if you didn't have one. I didn't have the honor of knowing Reep IRL, but I wish I had.
Here's to you bud, you'll be sorely missed and I hope you continue to make those around you better. /Cheers
