A gentlemen was camping a mob surrounded by other mobs.

I politely asked if he was camping the mob and he said yes. I ran off and stayed in the zone. For the next 2 hours he sat there. Never killed the mob and rarely killed the mobs around it. I watched from afar and kept the name mob on track.

I ran back over once and he was just standing there. Was not afk or doing much. Maybe saw him fighting a random mob 3-4 times in that time frame.

If he was camping it he was not killing it that is for sure.

Give them 5 minutes to kill the mob after that its fair game. the rules of the server state they need to be actively killing within a reasonable time frame of it spawning. 5 mins are plenty of time.

Sounds like a miscommunication to me, you say he was killing mobs, just not the one you spoke about.

I would handle by having a more detailed convo like hey that specific guy is up but you're killing other guys what's going on.

some mobs benefit from having a specific PH up on spawn reset like AC in s ro no? or raster in guk?

He was barely killing anything, half the time he say there and didnt move.

9min spawn timer on Mob. I got to the mob yesterday and he was even in the wrong spot in my opinion so may it was miscommunication. I specifically named the mob in our conversation though.

I got what I needed though. I did not know about the time reference, thanks for that.

Kinda depends if a dungeon or outdoor zones (with exception to certain spawns like HGs in rathe). Most the problems arise from miscommunication. The rest are hot heads. Sometimes best not to engage at all but there are specific rules that need to be followed.

General logic: Player agreements can be made. Someone can’t simply camp a whole zone. Worst case for outdoor pathing spawns it’s FTE. Worst worst case keep the screaming to a bare minimum and say you will petition a GM to explain since there is a misunderstanding.
