took a much needed break (thought i would quit) from P99. Use to play 10+ hours a day. Things calmed down in RL so i decided to reinstall the game and play. Looked forward to seeing my friends again etc. So i get to loggin screen and say "wow i forget my password". I go to EQemu page and it says they are unrecoverable.... I sit in front of my laptop for 5+ hours throwing out any and all passwords i have ever used to no avail. PM Rogean / Nilbog, email eqemu ppls. No responce.... I am screwd!!

I've been asking for recommendations on what a good system for password recoveries would be. Maybe I should make a thread about it.. theres too much to take into consideration, ugh.

Because right now we haven't been allowing it. This is an EQEmulator issue though, not P99. Nilbog couldn't help you if he wanted to.

Its my own damn fault, i should remember my PW rather then being a looser and relying on hardware to help me reset it. What sucks is when you leave campes so not to make a bad name for yourself, you make some quality friends along the way. Get full planer, and some good gear. Then you sorta ban yourself in a way by forgetting a password.

While im raging i can offer the idea for:
Like the live servers the original email will always hold the account. click on "forgot LS password" the password always and only goes to the orginal email address. Give people 1-2 weeks to change there email address to a email they want to remain perminent via an email to all accounts registered and or a ingame start message. This will also help with ingame sales or charactors, knowing that if they dont have access to the original email they cannot buy the toon. JUST like it was done on live.

Just spitballing, although this doesnt seem like a horrid idea..

Yea like kruel said this is how eq live does it and it really helps with rl money trades for buying toons I vote for this and would also really like to see this implemented.

You could even make it that if you wanted to allow player trading ect that the master email could be changed as long as you could verify it, Example : I want to change the master email. I would log in eqemu acc, enter the email address I would like to change it to, and it would send a verification of change to the current email that would have a link to follow through with the change if clicked. This is simple yet, would save so much fustration for everyone including myself.

Apparently my memory isn't foolproof and I'd rather not lose access to a character just because I can't remember the loginserver pw, even though I still have the info to the EQEMU account.

Yep. Forgot my password about 4 months ago and haven't played since. My fault for sure, but it would be nice to be able to recover from this.
