Hi all,
I am an ex-EQlive player (classic through to PoP) and love the concept of this server. My question is this: if I start now, have I missed the boat? Will I be able to find groups as I level up, or are most people in the 50-60 range and I will have to wait until I get close to level cap to find groups?
Also, I would appreciate any thoughts on what are good classes for getting groups. I mained an iksar shm in Kunark and really enjoyed that, but am looking for something different this time around. My thoughts (based on the holy trinity mantra) is a tank (sk or monk perhaps?), a healer (cleric) or cc (bard).
Cheers

There are tons of players of all levels. Just keep in mind that Kunark is out so you will tend to find more people playing low level iksar alts in Kunark, as opposed to the old world newbi zones like it was a month ago.
Only think you missed out on were some limited time itmes that chances are you never had on live either, so I wouldn't worry about that. It's still a great time to join, especially considering that newbies are now being give much better free gear from kind veterans than they were before Kunark went live. :D

There's still a fair amount of players at lower levels, new people starting every day, and folks starting alts all the time. For the most part, if you stick to populated areas you can find groups at most levels... Or in the least a duo partner.
Best classes for groups are going to be Cleric, Enchanter or a Tank. Monks are highly sought after too.
You've largely missed out on grouping in most old-world dungeons as far as I can tell. Most of the drops are now worthless compared to Kunark gear. But I still see a decent amount of people at all levels grouping in Kunark zones (ironically for less xp than the old-world dungeons... I'd take MM castle over trash in OT any day).

my question is, is there any type of pvp server around right now? or do you just have the choice for a PVE? so if you wanna fight another char do we have to /duel?

I've been playing in Greater Faydark as a High Elf and there are usually 20+ people in the zone and I haven't had any trouble finding groups for Orc Hill and Crushbone.

If you play during peak hours, which are like 5-10pm EST during the week, you should be fine for finding groups in old world. May get a little sparse on occasion, but that really just means less competition then kunark zones.
@mycutie: There is no pvp server right now, rumor has it there is a redp99 in the works but there is NO official timeline for when/if that is happening. Right now you can either go Red on the current server (tome of discord) or use /duels for PvPing.
Keep in mind going red on a blue server means only other reds can heal/buff you.

Thanks for the responses.
I am waiting for a used Titanium edition to ship from Amazon now. Another possible issue is living in Australia, however, I saw a thread under Guild Discussion indicating that there is at least one asia/pacific guild around.

there are a decent amount of Euro/Asian players in your timeslot. Well for how small the server is anyhow. You will however have alot tougher time finding groups in those timeslots. I would recomend having a solo toon and a group toon so you can even it out a bit. If you are in Field of Bone look for my monk "Sumting". I'll kick you some plat for some bags and basics.

Interesting question. As far as I know, a complete caricature, given over 90% of Australians live in a urban environment. The outback lifestyle is up there with the cowboy lifestyle i guess - it exists, just not really that common. :)
I am from NZ originally anyway - Go the All Blacks for 2011 Rugby World Cup!
