I'm pretty sure one fucking scrub shaman not giving out free sow will ruin everyone's play experience.
I guess I'll just ask the 50,000 other newly twinked Iksar shamans out there and the 100,000 Druids who are sitting around LFG for a free sow.
In short,
Fuck you

Sorry, but i kinda agree, i don't buff or sow people that feel entitled to it. If you ask and offer to donate, I usually turn down the money, port buff sow levi and invis you, and then afk and smoke a bowl. No mana is wasted that way.
I ignore the idiots that spam with "Hail, Desert. Hail, Desert. Hail, Desert. Hail, Desert. Buff plz. Buff plz. Buff plz. SOW plz. SOW plz. SOW plz." - PoP era quote minus the line breaks, he spammed me for 15+ lines in /say.

I managed to avoid this issue by making sure my only SoW-wielding character, a Druid, didn't get to level 14 for a good two years.
When he did, I stopped playing.

I avoided having to deal with tards like this by buying jboots. As a mage, I ds or summon pretty much any request, because clicking buttons is not hard.

i think it depends where they ask. if it is ecommons shouldnt be a problem but if its while grouped and they demand it that is a bit rude

I get requests from monks all day long for daggers. If I'm busy, I say give me a minute, and then I summon them. It's really not a problem. People just like to complain about stupid shit.

I don't expect people to give me hundreds of platinum for easy to get to resurrections, but a little bit of plat or some peridots, or if they trade buffs I'm just as happy! When people stiff me though I get a little miffed.
I can imagine how being asked one-thousand times a day for SoW can be really irritating. I bought SoW potions so I don't have to go on bugging you poor shammies and druids :P

I don't mind giving out clarity a million times a day... I just add everybody's name to my little book of favours to call on when I need them.
Plus now that charm is nerfed it is all we are good for... (I kid, I kid)

I don't really see the big deal. Lots of classes have things that are very desirable to people. (cleric: rez, enchanter: C1/2) I figure we all help eachother out, if people want to donate that's fine (I'm often seeing people donate a hefty sum for what is basically no mana to me).
Also, SoW (unlike C/rez) can only be cast outdoors. It's not like you're in a dungeon with tight mana when people come asking for SoW.

he's not being unreasonable, tips are common edicate. Tipping has nothing to do with the cost of casting the spell, it's just a small way of showing appreciation to the player. I would get pissed if someone DEMANDED something from me in game (unless it's a raid) like I'm supposed to bend over backwards for them or something. I played a mage in wow, I had ports I know how you fell shammy man.

what a witty post
I will not SoW you, so stop begging.
I realize you have to hurry back to getting PL'd, and you are not used to dealing with other people, let alone grouping.

On my druid if i see someone run up to me and stop and look in my direction, i naturally assume they are going to ask for a sow and try and hit them with it before they can even ask especially if they are naked =p . Sow is always memed and costs virtually nothing. 6 months ago i would get 5 plat tossed in the trade window ever 3rd or so person. I can not recall the last time anyone donated, it is most likely due to the fact i am in all planar now. If people ask you for sow be thankful you dont get the "sow/regen/ds/skin pls" requests. The only thing i would like to see changed about the people asking for buffs is the use of full sentences and please and thank you, a druid can dream. If people ask for sow/regen/ds/skin in a rude way, i will often give them 3 of the 4 and see how long they wait for that last one =

A little politeness goes a long way in my experience. I never carry around pp (weight). I never, ever demand. I ask politely, and if they don't want to, that's cool. It's their buttons. I'll tell them thanks anyways, and ask someone else. No biggie!

yeah, I meant when people demand specifically, I would refuse tips for ports sometimes if I thought they were cool :P. And yes I agree being nice is important it earned me my epic flyer in wow. (sorry I keep mentioning wow I don't know why im thinking about it so much today.)

OMG ill try not to ruin it, but miller likes to sow people, and drink Dwarven Ale made from freshly squashed dwarf's. lost my train of thought there for a second Oh yeah, not many donate for sow although last week I sow'ed a mage and he ran to the bank and got me 10p. I was floored that he did that, most just run away.

In one thread you quote edicate.
In another you call the thread stupid because the OP asks for people to have some edicate while working the forager cycle....
Sure you're not really just a very small troll wearing a dwarf skin suit Hasbinbad?
PS. I'm aware that etiquette is misspelled.

sounds good, I think my Rogue should no longer pick locks or back stab for free too,
I'll keep picking pockets at no charge though ;)
Whenever buffers won't buff on timer (usually shamans for some reason) and insist that I ask every time I need a buff (in a non-raid situation, ofc), I always come back with "Ok, ask me every time you need me to backstab please."
Lazy players are lazy.

Being dependent on the fickle disposition of a significant other for SoW....yeah I'd get those jBoots too :D
Of course she can still play the "Whoops I accidentally cast gate instead of succor. Hey now you can take out the trash while you wait on a rez."

Free anything in this game should be considered a privilege.
I remember my Dad, when he ran his druid on Tunare, eventually just started ignoring people asking for SoW, unless they gave him money. Even if it was just a few pieces of silver.
I don't think SoW should ever be treated as though ''free'' should be the standard. It's cool when the mage has free time to summon you up some levitation rings or whatever those things were, or some bandages. It's cool when the Druid or Shaman slaps some wolf on ya for your CR. It is not cool to go up to a Druid, Shaman, Mage, Enchanter, or any class and just start demanding stuff. A lot of people should also keep in mind it's a little harder to convey tone and emotion over the intarwebz, and one should choose their words carefully. There's been many times where I've asked something of someone and came on as a complete asshole to them, either because of my wording or they just had a bad day, when I had no real intention of doing so.
Ports are a different story though... i want mah dredlands portz fo' free.

can't see being concerned about a sow. Make a druid(or Wiz) and get the "can I get a port" tell 5 times each hour from all over the eq world.
