Haven't played since Teal. What is class balance like now?

Recently am starting to get a bit of free time again, considering rolling something new on Green.

I was wondering if much has changed in regards to class balance / popularity?

Are the most underplayed classes still Ranger / Paladin? Or are there other shortages currently?

Pretty much any melee class is underplayed and Wizard.
