I'm a 40 Bard at the moment. I'm not usually one to ask for handouts, but wouldn't turn down anything offered to help either.

I don't really have any special gear, which is fine, since I kite a lot--don't have to tank a lot :). I have trouble soloing dungeons, which is why I'm working on a necromancer alt.

I've had a few people on this server give me a few pieces here and there, which has been a great help. I've consistently given out bronze (yes, laugh it up high levels :-p) to newbies all over, which I find rewarding even though I probably could have sold it for cash to upgrade my toon.

I'm not sure if what I gave out will inevitably inspire those people I've given stuff to, to later donate--but I hope so. I suppose the only promise I'd make is that at some point should I decide to quit, I'd do the same thing with my items; find them a good home =)

I honestly don't deserve your stuff - I really don't need it and already have enough stuff of my own. However, in the event you are unable to locate a worthy individual for your stuff, I would be more than willing to take it off your hands.

As I don't really have any need for it beyond selling it and making the number I see when I visit the bank slightly larger, in the event you decided to leave your things in my possession, I would distribute them to individuals I encountered in regular game play that I felt were deserving. How I would accomplish this is by judging individuals I encounter when I play my anonymous alts.

I already do this a lot since unless an item is going to net me over 1k, I rarely waste the time trying to sell it - so instead when a random L30 druid stops and gives me a thorns or sow, instead of tipping 5pp, I toss them a charred guardian shield - or the monk/druid duo who kindly invited a random stranger that happened to be my under geared paladin who was 3 levels lower than them join their group despite the fact it worsened their exp and I wasn't really bringing much to the table... actions like that are what I like to reward. Sure a paw of opolla could net a bit of cash; or it could be given to druid who kindly took time out of kiting to help me track a wandering mob down.

So yea - hopefully you find someone to give the items to; but if you don't, I'm sure I could help you find a good home for them while I'm anonymously running around P99 acting like the newbie we all know I really am.

If I were you, would I give me your stuff? I really doubt it. I don't have much in the bank, but when you look at my gear you'd definitely think "This isn't someone who needs my loot."

Now, let's say you did give me your loot. What would I do with it? Well for starters, if you had BS ears, I'd equip them and be like "fuck yea!" and if it included some high ticket item I could sell to work towards a fungi tunic, I'd be all over it. Anything past that, I would likely wind up giving it away when I do a one of my Crushbone buff runs I try to do once or twice a week. Would probably beat the crappy CoM weapons I usually have to hand out, but who knows what your loot looks like.

Now, why me over Loke, who is likely much more recognizable than me? Quite simple really, because I can give the noobs high level shaman buffs while handing out the loot, whereas all he can do is FD and watch the train of a legion of orcs slaughter the noobs. The choice is clear. ;)

Am I a worthy non-shitbag? I'd like to think so but I suppose I would be slightly biased in that assessment. I've been playing here for about a month and a half and I've greatly enjoyed the experience. Along the way I've come across many helpful people which have made my stay here all the more enjoyable. I know not what you have to offer, but if chosen I would repay my debts to the server. These debts are both literal (a friend who offered a loan so that I could upgrade my staff) and more figurative in the sense that I have received various forms of assistance from perfect strangers met along my journey thus far. Of course I would improve myself with a portion of what was received but I would see the rest find its way into other new player's hands that they may experience that generous spirit that the server offers in hopes of building the community even stronger.

To be blatantly fair and honest there is a group of people who go out of their ways to give to others. One runs a Casino in EC Hagglebarron or something like that... He gives people money all the time with his little quiz games. I am sure he would be down for distributing the goods. Most times I am in Nro Feerott Innothul as a Ogre who feels the need to help fellow Evil Doers I make sure to help the noobs out. So I run through my inventory till I have emptied myself of anything I know I cant use.

It is only right to help the lower levels out when I know I was helped so much as a lowbie.

Not sure what getting your stuff means but ... worth a try considering I have next to no stuff.

Started playing eqemu again because of this server about a week ago. I have a total net worth of about 20pp. I am wearing all cloth and in the last week I have attained level 16. I have come to find out that this server is super fun and quite tough to make progress. I have run into a couple people who were super nice, one gave me some pp when I mentioned I was farming skeli bones to afford my 12th level spells. Another purchased two spells for me from a vendor that wouldn't speak with a dark elf and then gave me the two spells for free. I'm not in a guild yet but will likely join a casual one eventually.

So ... Giving me your stuff, even if your stuff is worth only a few pp, will help a newb out in a big way.

I don't deserve any handouts, and I do my best to avoid them in all things; however, I also won't let pride get in the way of a clear opportunity. I am a proud father of a beautiful 3 year old girl, I have a lovely wife of 8 years, and we are about to have our second daughter sometime within the next 3 weeks.

I don't have much time to play EQ, but I have loved the game since 1999 and I play about 5-6 hours a week at the sacrifice of sleep. I do this because it is my one selfish indulgence in life. It is my choice.

Getting a couple things to help give me a leg up in game would be appreciated, if only to save me from killing decaying skeletons over and over again to sell for 10pp a stack.

I just started playing here 6 or 7 weeks ago. I'm enjoying the server haven't met but one asshole so far, and i think he got banned shortly after being a prick to everyone in the zone.

I love the server, i think its better then my eq exp on live even from 99-2004. Overall everyone seems very helpful, but then again my main is 52, maybe they get worse later.. don't know yet.

I could prob find 10 or less items i can use myself. Because i have farmed for pp the old school way (guards, giants anything i can sell as loot) and bought all my items at horrible pc values.

I have no clue how many items are being suggested, but im sure i would sell a few of them to stack 10-20k in the bank. Then i would more then likely do what i did on live alot:

I was known to make a toon no one knew, follow them around at distance watching how they play or interact with others( briefly 5-10min timeline),then make a decision if they were kind/selfish/or asshat'ish. And if they genuinely appeared nice (examples: running over to help others that needed help, healing someone if they can... for unselfish reasons, like helping them because they need help), then I would hail them and tell them " I watched you recently do things for others, for no other reason except to help them" typically followed by a "...huh? hehe" Then i would open trade with them and give them and item or two, complete the trade and reply "Later... Don't forget its those little things that make playing here enjoyable and make others around you like to play with you" /smile then walk away.

I did this alot on live, was actually given an in game item by gm for being like Goodwill called "Totem of Goodwill" had a clickie alliance effect like the chanter rod.

I'm not tooting my own horn bout anything, i dont know you, so no reason to. But i would make a measurable effort at spreading it out with people i thought deserved items. I have very few friends here 5 or so, and they are all well geared and pp stacked, so their out. But im sure i could make a few players remain honest later in the game by acknowledging the good they do now, at their lower levels.

Me and a buddy are new to the server in the last week and there are quite a few people that have stopped their day to help us out in one way or another.

Last night Arkyani definitely stopped what they were doing and hooked us up though. Seems like a good candidate to me.

Arkyani is a great person. I had the pleasure of meeting him when i was kiting in oot on my necro, he would go out of his way to log his chanter in buff his group spam free C2 for while at SF ramp. And through tells with him and chat, i can see his character and nature is a good "im here to have fun and help where i can" kind of person.

One of the good ones im proud to include in friends list. And a great canidate if you haven't met him yet.

I do all I can to make P1999 a bit easier for those who are just getting started, or for others who might just be having a bad day. A little help goes a long way, especially in EQ. I am very glad to see a lot of you still remember all the things I have done during my stay here and I can promise you it will continue for a long time.

I just gained Sole Legal and physical custody of my 2 year old and havent had time to play as much as I would like. Granted your stuff is suitable for my character, I believe I deserve some of the items because I will in turn donate any pieces of my own armor which were replaced.

I also give my word that when I am finished using any inherited items, I will do as you have here and hand them down again while ensuring they go to an equally deserving player.

I have always done my best to help the community as much as possible, so your choosing me will in turn benefit many others as well.

By passing the items to me and allowing them to trickle down a line of equally honorable individuals, we will be helping to make the P99 community a better place for everybody. It is so much more about sharing the wealth than it is about personal greed.

Anything done online is technically pixels. Who cares. If someone is having fun it shouldn't matter if its pixels or not. Most of the hate I see on these boards comes from people waiting for Red 99, which makes me glad I have no intention of ever playing there. The only difference with Red 99 is you can be an a-hole over "pixels" and its allowed.

I am going to take the time (for no real reason other than just because), to reply to this thread and tell you why I don't deserve your stuff and why I also don't want it:

I don't deserve it because in EQ I am greedy and I would use ever speck of it to benefit myself, and would likely give very little away. I tip for things... ports get like 100-200pp... but otherwise I don't really help many people (in EQ anyway). I would use your stuff for the nefarious and evil purpose of self gratification. I am also honest, as you can see, which may be a valid reason why I deserve your stuff, but it is certainly not enough to outweigh my inherent EQ greed.

Next, I don't want your stuff because, despite my EQ greed, I like the process of making it on my own, and if you gave me your stuff I would greedily hoard it, but it would ultimately make me feel unhappy because my nostalgia would be ruined by being shot past where I should be in the game, in terms of wealth. I want the experience to be true to my original, and getting super rich easily was not my original. I am not rich in the game now by any markers, and I want to make it on my own. Please do not give me your stuff, but if you have anything you are willing to sell at reasonable prices, I would like to see that list ;)

Beyond that, I can honestly say that I see now that writing this was a complete waste of time. Chow!

Loot is hard earned. It is a legacy gained through the triumphs and sorrows of many characters, and is the valiant sum of effort put forth by the player. A legacy is certainly not something that should be wasted, and I can only imagine that you want the time you spent acquiring it to continue being well used and cared as you would if you could! I recently found out about project 1999 and was giddy to recreate my character from live whose legacy and soul belongs to sony. I'm well on my way to becoming a hero, and If you pass your legacy down unto me, the strength of your ancestors will empower my vision of glory and be a living monument to your achievements in EverQuest! :D

I might be very new to this server, but first off, your gear will be put to very good use. Myself and 3 of my buddies are leveling together (me a cleric, one a mage, one a necro, and one a druid). Any help we can get will be greatly appreciated, and again put to great use.

Another reason why it would be best suited to us, is that we are very large fans of a community based game, and helping those that need it. Basically a pay one forward scenario, where once we can no longer use the gear, rather than it being sold for PP, it would be handed down the chain to another newbie or set of newbies, with the stipulation to keep the chain going.

Also if you were to ever come back, and wanted your gear back, you would gladly be given it back, as it would have already gotten great use in the time you were gone. That is all, and if you have any further questions, you can send me a tell to either Pottymouth or Iksane in game. Thank you for your time, and in all honesty, I don't know you, but sucks to have someone that is at least somewhat thoughtful leaving the game.
