There is a correct way and a VERY INCORRECT way to enter and exit Karnor's Castle!

When entering: GO TO THE RIGHT!

Many people bind on the left side; please don't train in that way.

Thanks!!!

Enter: Right Side facing in
Exit: Right Side facing out

People sit at the right side entrance just inside. Waiting for groups or to med up. Don't be a jerk and train these people. Because that's against the rules, even if you're about to die.

Nobody said it was to be 100% safe, but with a little common sense, it can be pretty close.

Kunark was out on blue for like 15 years before velious and this was never a problem.

Yes, enter (or train in) on the right and exit also on the right. And don't stop to look at your train.

BUT ALSO - don't bind at a zone line, especially KC. Get Levitate and get on top of the wall of KC and bind up there. You will never get unintentionally trained there.

This x1000. Good players don't need cutesy little mores to keep them alive. I'm zoning left.

Since when is it against the rules to train someone unintentionally when you’re running for a zone line?

Just thinking about a discussion trying to answer this question makes me ill.

It isn't against any rules to play the game and suck and accidentally train people sitting at the zone line.

Anyways wear a coronavirus mask when you are in public or indoors it might help.

Seriously, stop it. You know god damn well what's being said here.

I don’t though? Sure if I know everyone is sitting right there and I purposefully drag my train over them while zoning then yeah that’s against the rules. If I’m running from a train and unaware there is someone sitting at that zone line and I accidentally train them, that’s not against the rules...it’s an accident

I believe technically you're supposed to stand and die. However the staff knows trains happen in EQ and hence use discretion, seldom actually sanctioning anyone for that type of scenario. The staff in my experience do not make themselves slaves to mindlessly enforcing the letter of the law in defiance of all sense.

You could also not AFK inside a zone line, which seems preferable to relying on your fellow degenerate pixel addicts to follow imaginary arrow stickers on the floor of KC.

Common man.. When entering a building, you always gotta map out the entrance and exits. Fire Warden Training 101. For good reasons, exits should always remain an exit, and entrances should always remain an entrance.

This is what happens when you don't acknowledge this.. Imagine the Station Nightclub is Karnor's...

Yep... There's a great documentary about it out there too.

This video and the accompanying video are the reason I thoroughly check all fire exits at every single gig I play, no matter how ruined I get.

Also a double-post but as a side-note... Entering KC on the right also means you don't run into people's trains when you zone in. It's good for all parties rather than simply a benevolent act.

“But how am I meant to know this is an established convention? I zone out where I want and any unexpected people on the tracks is an unfortunate accident” in reply to a thread broadcasting the convention.

You might get away making this obviously hypothetical argument in game, but you can’t plead social ignorance in thread after having read the posts - at point of replying you are no longer ignorant and lose access to the argument being made in ‘good’ faith.

That is not classic! Everyone should go out whatever exit they feel like. Yell train... or don't. KC has always been a choo choo fest.

Can't speak for all servers, but on Brell, right side was safe side, just like here. Was pretty common to see 25 - 30 people hanging out, lfg. KC rules are classic.

Fair. I'm more just pointing out that this isn't a punishable offense if it's actually an accident. Wouldn't want people coming to the thread and thinking that they are going to be punished if they run a train to the ZL in like Unrest for example.
