Crashing half the time i zone

I have installed RAM disk and run the game from there. I have purchased a VPN and have tried it with local server and new york server, I have turned down the graphics, add more virtual memory and I restart the routed twice a day and I still crash half the times i zone. I zone a lot s I port (Green). After I crash i cannot connect to the server list. I get fed up and just stop playing. Then I think, it will be clear now... nope, no server list. Any other suggestion as to what I should do other than find another game to love?

What has been your experience with just a basic p99 install? I've never heard of someone requiring a ram disk/vpn or less graphics, or more memory. Our PCs are 1000x more powerful than EQ requires, as far as the isp/router, This game was played well on 56k modems.

Have you tried running eqgame.exe in XP SP3 compatibility mode and as administrator?

This corrects zoning/crashing errors for alot of players.

I have been denied for a few hours now, Crashed during a port and have not been able to log into the green server, I will try yo run compatibility mode and admin. Ty

Also has suggestions re: your server list issue, but it sounds like you've already tried using a VPN/hotspot. The game is very sensitive to packet loss as it uses UDP rather than TCP (a compromise from the era it was in so it would work with the limited bandwidth available to most subscribers).

make sure your resolution in your games files matches the resolution in your program file. its been a long time time but i think that helped me
