How Do You Feel About Server Firsts?

Now that we've had Green and its "server firsts" system for over a year, I've become curious about its success. So please, help share what the Green community thinks about server firsts!

I didn't like the first lvl 30/40 iksar necro (and I believe )shaman messages, as this was purely made possible only with PL/AS.

What I liked was the first Iksar SK lvl 50 server message, because I was grouping with Kagon since we were baby-SK+SHM in Kurns and we had a ton of fun in our journey and I know he leveled just the normal way and grinded with a 68% penalty up to 50. No grandmother or wife sitting with cleric/druid behind him. ALL HAIL KAGON, AVATAR OF FEAR!

I dont know much about drops and items, so cant really relate to all the server first drops. But I'm pretty sure I'd like to see and wait for some interesting stuff to pop up in yellow, if I knew more about it. How about the server message contains the link to the item, so n00bs like me know what the item is all about?

Every recycle server the winner of server first should be recorded on the wiki and they should have a feeling of superiority over anyone, even though its been done before.

Unless it has to do with raiding, anything that has to do with raiding should be shunned the way you would a rabid dog.

But the first dunedigger hunter of purple99 is the first dune digger hunter of purple99 and is a hero and savior of the lands.

it doesn't affect me and I think its actually quite exciting to see who will get it first!

I won't lie. I was super happy to get Server first 55 and 60 SK. Shoutout to all those who suffered the hybrid exp in my groups <3. Big shout out to Gathered Might, and others in HHK/Pits/Skyfire

Ps. Goal wasnt for server first. My Kunark goal was Locketx2 and CoS.. Got those knocked out. Then realized I was still in running for server first.

I know I'm firmly in middle age because when I see a video game trying to tell me I've made some achievement (which is itself slightly insulting, as if it thinks I'm too stupid to come up with my own achievements), I think something to the effect of, "Kids these days....."

They are fine. It's a neat tidbit of information. They only derange you if you are in fact already crazy.

It's fun to watch and it makes the world feel a bit more connected. You know the very moment some rare item dropped, quest was completed or level was attained.

Unless someone was a total Reaver-dropping dork, I'd usually shoot em a "grats" in /tell

However... *gets Mr Potatohead angry eyes and talks with strained pursed lips* ... it would have been more fun leveling on a level playing field, like no grouping or PLing for 30 days. Solo only. Grouping to boost people or PL, like questing, isn't classic.

But there are more yellow texts to be had!

Now that Badshaw has burnt out (or paid off? / threatened loss of DKP?) on getting 60 and Phatez from Reaver-Team has DKP-slaves boosting his Iksar Monk in bear pits of Perma, he should snag that yellow text in a matter of days.

I am just glad in the cold lands in the far north away from the hustle bustle someone is doing it all the natural way :)

I thought they were pretty cool on Green launch. It was fun to see who could beat the crowd of 50+ people in Nektulos to get to level 2 first, etc, without all the PL's and saved quest items to turn in. Now that Kunark has launched, I don't really care at all, as none of it feels as genuine as it did a year ago.

Speaking of server firsts though, is anyone else a little surprised we're more than a month into Kunark and we still don't have a level 60 Iksar? Two of them were level 50 only four days after the Kunark launch.

lvl 60 iksar monk will happen very shortly. They were PL'd like crazy first 50 lvls. And going to say this. Server first 60 Paladin/Ranger/SK (ranger hasnt happened) clearly fills genuine as those are classes I can tell you aren't being PL'd their just long hours grinding away.

I was around since very start of green....

And never got a yellow text. Even though I heard rumor was one for first gnome to visit Erudin! So I went there super early!! And I was at the first Vox slaying!! Shootin it!

Anyhow... time passed... kunark came... and finally I got a yellow text!! For the greatest YT in all of Norrathian history! The ancient rod of annihilation!

I didn't just want "a yellow text", I wanted one that fit mine character too.

So things turned out ok in the end!

But for those seeking the YT, there is still hope in velious!! Make suggestions on what you want YT on when the time comes, and achieve dreams!!!
