Fraid not. Trade off is you have a proc that works on higher level mobs though.

Agreed. People roll races specifically for ND. Lol so dumb, ratio is trash, easy to find a better weapon. Be a real pally and get the epic, it’s not hard.

How so? Both have a -100 magic check, DD and stun. FD per the wiki is 1.5 instead of 1 sec. DD is 155 for FD instead of 150 for Nature.
Biggest difference is AC instead of bash and some better stats on the FD. Plus one is a snooze to get and the other is mildly annoying.

ND 3rd best tanking 2 hander for Paladin's.
Also we all know meta game is Fashion Quest, and ND wins that.
Gotta look GUD when your guild kills Trak in 30 seconds you know.
Lance of thunder is bis fashion quest

Last I checked the Paladin epic proc component won't proc on mobs higher than level 55

Anything 55+ is unstunnable. I usually use my FD for Hate tanking (lazy aggro) and can’t recall any resist messages on the DD component but will look again next time I go up.
The proc on the two weapons is virtually the same. Unless one is bugged the result should be the same minus a possible lower duration stun on <55 mobs (non giants) for the Nature’s Defender per the wiki.
Note: I see the wording for the FD “up to 55” and less info for the ND. This is likely just less descriptive wiki editing. I will log my next gate trip and check for resists though for continuity.

I pretty much just put it down to the difference between Kunark era weapon and mobs and Velious era weapon and mobs for the difference in the procs.

FD procs and lands just fine on 55+ mobs, it just won’t stun them. FD is the superior weapon, the looks between the two is personal preference, I personally think they both look good.
