Add shorty hybrids?

It's really that I would like to be a halfling ranger.

And some people want to be gnome SK's

I don't think they impact balance.

I voted no, because of a strict love of classic, but I think it would make sense to be one of the perks of the blue server (or the red99 server) that becomes like the retired permanently at the end of the timeline server that it gets this small change added as a bonus feature.

But maybe for some people its a big negative and they don't want it contaminating their otherwise happily at end of velious timeline server.

Yes, gnome Sks with haste arms would be pretty imba. I’d make one in a heartbeat

Maybe one day I will be a gnome guy but right now I just don’t vibe with them. I do have a shorty affinity in this game so maybe I need to dig deep into my heart and find the gnome in it. They’ve always been a bit evil for my taste. Being able to make telescopes is nice though.

Do the new combos add any new factions? Might be a decent amount of work if so. Otherwise I don't see a lot of harm. Might as well release beastlords while your at it. At which point you may as well release Luclin.

It's settled then. Luclin release coming fall 2021.

Cheers.

I'd like some non classic combos.

I think I mentioned the prankster Halfling Shadowknight of Bristlebane previously (makes more sense to me for the church of mischief than a paladin).

Things like barbarian bards or iksar rogue guild (based outside cabilis and KoS to the main city?) would be fun too.

Barbarian Bard makes sense, but would be the ultimate bard and everyone would want to re roll.

Halfling SK almost makes sense.

Jolanar I would edit your post. Affirming luclin is a bannable offense.

I vote for /Slitherio to be in place of /gems as custom content...I dont play any short classes because I have a big johnson...

While I think there is basically zero chance of this change, I think it is interesting that most votes are in favor of adding them in.

I think that the Gnome and Halfling version of hybrids were excluded because of the traditional RPG role of those class types.

Rangers are supposed to be Aragorn. Hobbits like the famous Took that drank the water from the big trees became notable warriors, but they never approached the mastery of the land that a ranger would have.

Likewise, the paladin is some kind of almost psychotically devoted person to his cause and this is not the kind of fervor you see in a halfling.

A strong argument could be made against the halfling cleric, because it seems that the kind of healing a halfling might have would be more druidic style and less priestly, but bristlebane works in mysterious ways.

The gnome shadowknight, maybe there is room for that but I don't know much about what a gnome is supposed to do.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that chevy79bu has a regular johnson but thats OK. Everyone has their own EQ race affinities.

Yeah they should also add Ogre monks and and Troll wizards with that patch too!

Gnome SK and Halfling rangers just make sense.

Gnomes can be necros, all the spells are there for them to buy.

Halfling can be druids, all the spells are there for them to buy.

In this time of great turmoil, we need short shadowknights and lil ranger dudes.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Adding Beastlords, even without Luclin (just BAR,TRL,OGR, IKS) would wreck balance hard (Not to mention Epic wouldn't be doable). Beastlords were SO busted. Melee class that can haste, slow, buff, regen, and has a pet that's almost on par with mage and necro....like seriously the only thing I missed when I played a Beastlord was root and snare. Pet procs even interrupted casters!

You do know enchanters, shamans and necros already exist right? Beasts are in no way busted compared to the already absurdly unbalanced classes in solo p99.

You just reminded me half elf bandits can be wizards. I wonder who trains them? It’s sure not any of the city schools!

I'm just goofing around, sorry if I tricked you. (Diety Selection: Bristlebane)

The vanilla class / race combinations are pretty good. The exception might be barbarian rogues just because they are OP vs other rogue races due to throwing boulders, and how do barbarians sneak? Conan always had to hire a rogue. It doesn't seem to fit with the Tribunal lifestyle. I wonder if there is a D&D connection for the barb rogue.

Just picture Frodo in the role of Strider / Aragorn in lord of the rings and you can see why a halfling isn't a ranger.

The race / class restrictions in EQ are a cool aspect.

I think rogues can fit into tribunal. The courts need detectives to gather evidence, maintain underworld contacts, perform assassinations to right/prevent greater injustices, no?

Also, reminds me of the comic where Hulk and Wolverine goes undercover. No one buys it, but they’d rather deal with these two’s under cover identities than get in a scrap with the real deal.

140 Str Barbarian just stole crown jewels? Nope I didn’t see you, just get out before I notice you ;).

I do agree the restrictions add more flavour than they remove. The quirky religions combos are enough. I wish halfling wars could bristlebane. Combat unfortunately has gallows / black / physical comedy, right?

Its really strange that halfling warriors can't be bristlebane. He is the best diety by far not just because of his neutral status making you practically non KOS in evil cities.

I mean if clerics can be bristle then why not warriors? Maybe because warrior life is too straight forward and honest and rigid for a bristlebaner, while cleric life giving vitality comes from the love of mischief and stuff.

Lore is awesome.

In the Warhammer 40,000 lore, for the space elves it is the laughing god / trickster god who protects his followers souls from the eternal damnation fated to any eldar which cross the veil of death. Maybe Halfling Clerics have a similar deal?

As the song goes, "Just remember that the last laugh is on you"...

Perhaps each time a halfling cleric wants to cast a heal or rez, he falls into an alter plane in which he has to beat Death in a game of skill or chance, ala Bill and Ted?
