View Full Version : Question for 55+ Chanters: Zumaik's Animation and Torment of Argli

A few quick questions about these two spells, as they are the only one's I don't have that I would even consider buying.
Zumaik's Animation:
Is it worth the stupidly high price? Reading the comparisons of levels and damage, it doesn't sound like it. But since i don't have it, I'm sort of asking before I buy. Here is how I've read it pairs up with our 49 spell.
-Kintaz's Animation(lvl 49 spell) Pet lvl range (34-38) Max hit: 52
-Zumaik's Animation(lvl 55 spell) Pet lv range (34-39) Max hit: 54
So, does it have significantly higher health/mitigation/something that justifies dumping 5k+ into the spell?
Basically, I'm asking is it 5k plat better than the 49 spell?
Torment of Argli:
This spell seems cool because I hear it stacks with our other dot line (gasping embrace, choke, etc). My main question about this is whether it can be cast on non-caster mobs. I only ask because I notice it drains mana + health, but the only mention of the spell being used that I could find was against caster mobs. Also, can anybody confirm that it does, in fact, stack with our other dot line?
Thanks a bunch!

the 55 pet spawns with two swords so yeah it's definitely worth it.

though it spawns with two swords, is it actually duel wielding? Or is that just the graphic?
if so, seems like it goes against the patch notes that said no pets would automatically
duel wield.

Kanras: Pets will no longer automatically dual wield at a certain level.
Via this post (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showpost.php?p=267634&postcount=1).
Does not mean no pets will ever dual wield. As I understand the intended meaning of the post says, "at a certain level". Which may vary based on class.
The original notes, which P99 should follow the time line of are here (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=33962&highlight=dual+wield), which discuss this in more detail with a good post about it in that very thread.
There's also a very good post which at least covers Necro pets dual wielding at certain levels here (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=29778&highlight=dual+wield).
Hope it helps some, the search function works wonders :)

1 question sort of answered. Thanks Zinyen and Dontaze.
Another thing I learned from this thread is that Tiggles makes 5k an hour in Seb. He is not poor. He is a Xosire-rich gangsta.

I tried out Zumaik's a few times after it dropped for me in a king group. Best pet I could summon hits for 57 and does dual wield out of the box - two two handed swords. With AQ it did about 35-40 dps on the various shrooms there. I would only use this spell if you suck at charm.
IIRC I tried stacking Torment of Argli with Asphyxiate and failed.

I use this pet in KC all the time when I just feel like a laid back group. I just AoE stun everything that comes to camp, root and tell the group to assist my flying swords.
It's quite fun.

the way i understood it, and still understand it from reading those posts, is that no pet will duel wield automatically....ie without being given two weapons.
so, obviously this fabulous enchanter pet is exempt from that. that's all i wanted to know

Actually you argued against your own understanding there: No pet will dual wield without weapons - this pet dual wields without weapons. If this pet is exempt and dual wields without being given weapons, then your understanding that "no pet can dual wield without being given two weapons" is not accurate :p
Also as stated on this post (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showpost.php?p=240461&postcount=7), some other pets do too, without being given weapons, at certain levels, as I originally quoted Kanras on.
All I was sayin is.. some pets do dual wield, even without weapons. And if certain others don't now, they will in October(ish) when they patch it in accordance with Classic :)
I know, it doesn't really matter in accordance to what you asked lol. Just figured I'd throw it out there as there's still confusion over the understanding of it :)

Yeah because a pet that spawns with 2 weapons is not supposed to be dual wielding, sounds logical.

just cause your car is painted with gold color, doesn't mean its actually painted in actual gold :D
the pet hold a sword in his off hand cause it makes him look cool, that's all
