I dig adding these to the wiki but I'd like to see the artist's name added in there too if possible. :)

I actually disagree with adding these images as important images on the wiki.
We remove luclin model pictures for example, why should we include modified graphics.
Pure 1999-2001 pre-luclin is what should be the platinum standard.

No, i'm not saying the images are bad.

I think the ultimate question for any change to the wiki is "does it enhance the wiki?" And clearly, adding unrelated images (eg. from other games) would not.

But bits of artwork at the top of zone pages don't hurt anything (they might take a second to load, but the rest of the page still loads in the meantime), and they're fun. Anyone who has seen the in-game thing will recognize the art of it (if done well), and it might just bring a smile to their face, or help confirm that they are looking at the right zone page.

So, they're certainly not a huge benefit ... but I think they are a small one, with no downside. Thus, whether it's art from the official EQ comics, or art from fans here, I think adding it to the wiki (again, in a way that doesn't make anything worse) is a small net win.

The classic blacksmithing guides often had IRL black smithing diagrams to set the tone.

Having art which were external to EQ as part of EQ guides is indeed classic!
