In regards to putting more fat people in movies, yea that I don’t get much either, at least not in these types of movies. Fantasy and superhero movies are supposed to be about aesthetically-pleasing heroes often batting it out physically with bad guys. Going out of your way to cast a fat person who is going to be in a fight scene against strong or numerous foes isn’t all that believable, unless we’re going with the “they have magical powers” logic. And why are beautiful people cast for movies and shows? Probably because people like to look at them. Why do beautiful people tend to do better in any entertainment medium, even YouTube or twitch? Because people like to look at them. People’s desire to look at something visually appealing seems to be greater than their desire to look at someone like them, or uglier than them, and I don’t see that changing /shrug

It’s common sense. Pandering to one political party results in disaffection from the opposite political party. The trailer for these got far more downvotes than upvotes (yes these can be seen via apps). Wife just got denied a drug she needs in five days because the insurance company doctor says they know more about the drug than the oncologists here. The workaround is to get readmitted for inpatient rather than doing it outpatient so they can give whatever drugs are needed. What a magical system the free market has created. Whatever. As long as she gets the treatment.

It's a problem when for-profit insurance companies are in charge of what care we can receive, even overruling doctors.

Yeah but let's say a Republican proposes a universal healthcare program and somehow gets majority support to hypothetically pass a bill. But doing so means raising the federal income tax by 2%. Does that 2% raise counterbalance the premium deduction against your paycheck? Guess it depends on how much your company covers!

The thing that frustrates me about how Dems see the GOP and how the GOP sees public education is they think that it is being anti-LGBT, but it’s not. It’s anti-trans, but it’s really NOT the straight kids at “risk”

It is impossible to coach or talk a straight child into being gay. Never gonna happen. You could 8 hours a day at school tell them how great sucking dick is and it isn’t going to make them gay. Just like you can’t talk a gay person into being straight

However, it is possible to confuse a gay person into thinking they are not gay, but rather a straight person of the opposite gender. Every time someone decides they are trans, a gay person vanishes. NOT a straight person

So all this GOP crusade against discussion of being trans is actually trying to protect gay people who might not be trans into thinking they are and possibly doing irreversible changes to their body as a result. Whether the GOP realizes it or not, that is really who this is all about: gay people, not straight people
