As a L49 Necro (Dark Elf of Innorruuk) with the L49 undead charm spell Cajole Undead, can I just walk up to Foreman, charm him, hand in Jade, and get the hammer?
My faction is essentially baseline. Haven't killed anything in KC for the negative, but not done anything to raise it either.
My hesitancy is due to older posts regarding him being very resistant, even to higher level ENC's with max CHA.
Am I being overly cautious? or fearful for no reason-- Should I just go get the damn hammer already...?

Thanks for all legitimate input. I do appreciate it.

Bind yourself close by just in case.

You cant proc the hammer until level 51 so doing it before then doesn't make a ton of sense.

But yes, as a necro you can just charm him and turn it in - faction matters not

Best method I found is root him, then charm him, then turn in your quest. I've done it a couple of times on a necro and I never had any resistance problems.

You might as well try. Worst case you die, but Hammer Hill has a lot of traffic. I am sure a cleric will be nearby at some point soon after your death.

If you do successfully charm the foreman, you will be able to turn in the jade to get the hammer. This is because pets are always amiable to their master, regardless of what their faction currently is. But Hammer isn't useable until 50, so maybe just wait to try until then. More levels means less resistance chance.

I'm about halfway through 49, so waiting til 50 does make a ton of sense... especially with those pre-meditated safeguards in place. haha

Thanks guys.

I failed a mez(untashed) and my first charm(tashed) on him at 51. So he does probably have a bit higher than average MR. Nothing incredibly high though.

Why do people charge 4K a hammer if necros can charm?

Why do people charge 4K a hammer if necros can charm?

Pets only regard their master amiably. Other players are looked at indifferently, which is not enough to complete the quest.

Not all players are using a necromancer / charm class.

it doesn't bring faction high enough if you are not the one who charmed it

I charmed him at 51 (Iksar Necro) and did the turn in. I'm not sure if i got lucky or what but I bound in fm just in case and gated as soon as I got it.

When I checked him out on a private server his MR didn't seem very high so I think the wiki might be wrong unless it's different for p99. I didn't have to charm him though because illusion and faction spell as enchanter was enough.
