On P99, Wizards feel kind of like a pointless class for a lot of content. In situations where you're camping a rare item and you're terrified of being KS'd, a Wizard is the best class you can possibly have in your group. I actually remember being a 16 year old kid and camping Gator Scale leggings for 18 hours straight, and a Dark Elf wizard just showed up and sat there. Didn't say anything. I almost had a nervous breakdown because I knew if he wanted to KS me there was nothing I could do about it. Wizards on P99 just feel like shitty mages because the few scenarios where they shine are no longer relevant.

I don't see anything wrong with the original statement. 'It' refers to the previous noun, which is 'the paragraph'. A pronoun disagreement would have been 'I suggest you google them' which would indeed be confusing.

P99 is, and likely always will be the most classic server, if for no other reason than it's the only server to actually keep us all playing one account at a time (you know, like 99.9% of us did in classic).

That being said, there's a reason there's been a huge amount of discussion of "what does classic even mean" around here lately, and I would suggest that a very simple way to end it would be for the staff to actually get passionate about classic EQ again, and then articulate what they see as classic EQ.

Right now we have this total mishmash: AoE swarming is classicly/unclassicly limited, but charming looks nothing like it did on live ... and yet we still stick to the "letter of the law" on it. ZEMs are a similar sign of this schizophrenia.

It would take all of one or two paragraphs for R&N to make clear what their goal for classic EQ actually is, and it would put everyone on the same page ... but I truly think they either they themselves don't know the answer to "what's classic (here)?", or their just afraid of players twisting whatever they say (which seems silly to me as it's their world, and we'll fall in line behind whatever definition they decide on ... if they ever decide on one).

TLDR; Someday the http://wiki.project1999.com/Non-Classic_Compendium will be totally logical. It will be able to explain everything that seems "unclassic" using the "classic criteria" that everyone is on the same page about. It's classic except mobs use level to level comparison for resist checks against you, they cast from the non classic spell selection from when Live changed caster npcs, red epic is some how outpacing vp weapons and gets some sort of 600 hate proc instead of the armor / attack whatever debuff / DD that it used to proc for much less, several Raid monsters with proc effects (proc PBAOE) are broken, dragon roar is still not 0 MR check which should be a garauntee for any serious raider nearly. lol @ aaryoner being rooted because it takes out the one challenge he ever presented to anyone (being pushed on your casters).

But all that said, if you saw what i saw when there was 8 players on a tiny no name server 10 years ago you'd be saying god damn how did they manage. at least it's not fucking WoW -- tho i'd prefer a little more hands off the gamers approach.

lets just pray they someday delete all that dynamic light change shit so eq can be much smoother like it was for 9 years

And gms looking the other way while people traded level 60 characters for platinum pieces during kunark -- where on LIVE you would get FUCKING BANNED for sharing accounts. Pretty great way to crowd the top end and clog this toilet early.
