Heyyyyy so it's likely that very few people here know me, but when I first started on p99 back in 2010 I joined a guild of super sweet players from Asia (totally can't remember the name but for some reason "DAP" is bouncing around in my pot-riddled brain), and when they wanted guildees to work harder, they would say "Add oil."

I have loved and used this expression in my life ever since. <3

Anyone else remember this phrase or that guild? :D

Hah, no. I haven't logged in since early 2016. I think I retired somewhere in the Wakening Lands. Too much going on to even think about letting this game get its hooks in me. Otherwise, things are going pretty good.

This reminds me that woot literally, did it come from everquest?

I remember in south karana seeing text like

a says ooc "woot"
b says ooc "what is woot?"
c says ooc "woot is woot!"
defhijketc "woot"

or is it from other online games at the same time?

A guy named Dobbie or something like that in SK on Bertox said woot alot. That was my first experience with the word, and I got that he was being enthusiastic for me, but I didn't like it.

GAP was a guild on Druzzil Ro, man. I have screenshots of Oogap and other monks chilling because they looked so cool and I was all giddy about it back in the day.

It's easy to do! Was in Pravus Mortis there until xfering to Stromm. Dro was a good one!

You are totally right; though. I remembered Oogap after you mentioned him. I eventually made it to <HoSS> and then sold my druid for $500. (We can say that here, right??)
