Everyone forgot about Easter and nolifed to get server first messages

Monks all crammed into a tiny room in KC for hours hoping to grab a pipe

Clerics online 24/7 but actually just afk in sol making it impossible to get a rez

EC tunnel filled with folks WTB epic pieces/mq and dragon scales for 100k+ pp

Farmers angry because of FTE rules and bag limits because they can't camp <fear golems, chardok, or insert other highly needed epic spawn>

Circa 2 days in and people already saying they are going to quit the game because they will NEVER get their epic

Is this how it was on Blue? Is this normal behavior for 30+ year olds? Could something have been done to learn from the past and save us from ourselves, or is this just another CLASSIC [P99] experience??

Whenever someone says "on live" I think of myself back in '99 trying to negotiate over the price of iksar scaled gloves. Then I realize they mean on a new TLP or something. Because we didn't know shit back in '99.

No one even knew what drops they needed or how to complete the quest when epics were first released

I think people forget (or just don't know) that when this stuff first came out on live, there wasn't an extensive Wikipedia about the game and 15 years + worth of player experience. No one knew exactly how to do the epics or even how to start them, and those that did certainly weren't running around screaming from a mountain top about how to do it all, (at least on pvp anyway) they had to discover it all for themselves. That is the biggest difference between live back then and p99 and other servers now. Everything is known nowadays, there are no surprises, or even a challenge to find out how to do something. You can just Wikipedia / ask people in game and know everything you need in minutes. Newer servers will never be able to replicate that initial wonder of live, simply because it's an old game that has been solidly nerded for over 20 years now.
