Kittens only got major TOV targets when Riot brought them in to help. Now Riot just needs to wait till Vanq hits their bag limits to get these top tier mobs by themselves. Without competition, there's no reason to bring Kittens in on the kills.

lol man right before the rooting of the dragons was the most fun i had in p99. We had finally made enough bots to be competitive in NToV and got our first Vulak pull. I think it was literally the next cycle or maybe the one after they rooted em all and made all that pointless lol.

Soon after that we lost all our raiders to Riot, the great summer BBQ occurred, and p99 wasn't fun for me anymore :( .

That's what this game is, competition. That's where the juice is. Literally everything about this game is competitive in nature, by its very design and especially on a top heavy server after 11 years.

This rule punishes a group of people working together, and with many difficult variables I might add, to achieve a successful kill while competing and instead, creates more charity. Why do we have charity on p99? It's against the very nature of the game design.

While I can appreciate CSR's attempts do something, this is the exact opposite of "encourage competition". Just don't serve me a soy burger and call it "meat".

Honestly gear in EQ is mostly pointless - every caster class can level to 60 naked if needed. It's all part of the grand illusion and showboating. I guess the tanker classes profit from gear more, but I would bet good money a warrior in full Banded armor could tank AoW given a proper raid force.

Levels and buffs are so much more powerful than gear that it trivializes gear mostly - keep chasing that magic dragon knuckle heads

I was going to write a snarky reply to this, but as I was travelling for work today I was listening to a podcast and near the end something caught my attention. There's a variety of people on this forum with differing opinions on stuff in the real world and most often it comes out in jabs and derogatory messages. I don't post much, but outside of the trading hub bump or occasional blue sever chat reply usually enchanter related, I sometimes randomly reply in r&f to things I think are stupid.

The last part is what I wanted to address. I think the whole podcast is is worth listening to but if you want to skip ahead, it is at about 2:13:00 that got me thinking of these sorts of back and forth I get into from time to time both here and in real life. What he describes can sum me up pretty accurately sometimes when he's talking about contempt of other people's thoughts or philosophies, and his own analysis I think is more insightful than mine which is to casually dismiss someone else's point of view, and I'm not the only one around here like that.

I realize R&F isn't the place to rationally hash out differences but if people can apply it to other aspects of their lives while interacting with other people I think it would be a positive thing. Something to think about anyways.

The server has always been far more healthy and fun to play on when the top guilds get banned. The rest of the server works together and everyone gets pixels and kills dragons. Make the draft once per month, that leaves 3 weeks for the sweatiest of our kind to do whatever they do these days to be considered the best.
