I'm from a town where a white man was dating a black woman and they broke up, and her son vandalized the man's car -- slashed all of the tires, busted out all of the windows, and in response the white man burned a cross in the boy's yard (they lived 10 feet apart), so this black gang of people showed up with guns and threatened to burn down every house since it was falsely portrayed on the media as a random hate crime... previous to this her son also got in a lot of trouble before this for calling in mutliple bomb threats to the local high school (https://swvatoday.com/news/article_671cc95e-c2dc-11ea-a277-fbbd446bacf8.html)... he's just a trouble maker and will likely die in prison

well i live on main street, and i knew this movement was going to go right passed my house, so im naturally nervous and have my AR-15 out, fully prepared to make the news. low and behold to my surprise, a bunch of nazi's and people in the kkk literally showed up and protected my house.

i remember being dumbfounded that nazi's actually existed when i first saw them, i never saw people like this irl, but after the day was over i was truly grateful that they saved us

like all of these outsiders just showed up being extremely violent because a known trouble maker vandalized his neighbor's car, and the guy responded by burning a "cross" (it was two twigs) in their yard the very next day. outsiders have no clue that the boy and that man had lived together for 2 years. This had nothing to do with George Floyd. I'm not defending burning a cross, but this was not a random act of hate, and the kid responsible for this is locally notorious for instigating drama every where he goes which is why he and his mother were forced to move down here in the first place. He had been kicked out of every school up north.

Marion/Atkins are worse... I was born and raised in that area... it's known as the area that the neighboring towns avoid like the plague.

And nah, it's not a made up story at all. There aren't many black kids in this town (you should know that), and I'm related to about 80% of them. Most people just viewed this as a random act of hate, but everyone locally knows that the man accused of burning a cross (again, it was two twigs, not really a cross) did this after his ex-girlfriend's son vandalized his vehicle. They live across the street from one another on a place known as Iron Street. It's the ghetto of the town, and if someone tells you they are going there, then you know they're going to get meth.

Half of my co-workers were from my last job were from Galax BTW. Thought it was crazy they would drive all the way to Marion for such a shitty job with no benefits. I've only been there once or twice when I was a kid. Back in that era, pet stores were a thing, and Galax had the best fish store that was semi-local. Was a real treat to go look at all the exotic fish and stuff when you're a 5 year old kid.

I went to Virginia Highlands Community College, which is like 10 minutes from Bristol, so I was in out and out of that area a lot during my college years. My mom lived in Bristol briefly when I was a kid, so I would spend summers there and stuff.

I went to the stateline bar in Bristol right after I got out of the ARMY, ended up getting tasered in the back and arrested for walking outside of a bar drunk, despite having a completely sober designated driver. Unlike Virginia where a public intox was like a $60 fine, they made me post bail, do 100 hours of community service, and pay thousands in fines and legal fees. Fuck Bristol TN. I've never gone back there. My family was so mad over that entire fiasco that they won't even drive through that state anymore.

I'm not kidding when this happened, complete strangers were running up and screaming at the cops to stop because they didn't understand why that was happening to me. The judge was a complete asshole too, I remember being in a jail cell for days (again, a misdemeanor public intox) and when I went before a judge to get bond, he cursed at me and told me he's sick and tired of people from Virginia coming down here and ruining his state (it's the stateline bar, I literally thought I was still on the Virginia side, but apparently not), and that he would not grant me a lawyer since I had money to run around drinking, then I could afford a lawyer, yadda, yadda, yadda, just completely berating me, and I remember being really confused because I literally hadn't done anything or even really spoke and was super confused by what was happening.

Fortunately I had a lot of money saved up since I just got back from my last deployment, and my parents backed me, and I was able to hire a really good lawyer, and showed up in the court room in a 3 piece versace suit that I had custom tailored while stationed in Italy, and it was insane how drastically different the judge treated me when he perceived me to be wealthy. Suddenly it was like he was my best friend.

But because of that night, like to this day, it annoys me when people say white men are never victims of police brutality. And it's also why despite being against BLM, I usually side with BLM more often than not because 85% of cops are assholes.

I was a lot more law abiding when I first got out of the Military. Now if a cop even asks me a question I immediately start cursing them out, the last time one stopped me he asked me why I was walking in work boots and I told him because I have a real job and started making fun of him for being fat, he was so mad that when his partner showed up and told him to leave me alone he was still cursing at me as I walked away lmao.

I really got under his skin. I came home and made a post about the prick onf acebook and people immediately knew who I was and told me the guy has the medical condition known as micro penis (they went to school with him and saw him in the locker room), and that his wife fucks every single guy in town while he's at work. However, I got banned when I accepted the award because the mods argued that I admitted to trolling (before I had just played dumb 24/7). To this day I'm still IP banned and it's not worth trying to start over a new account via VPN because of the way the system works there. Like a new account can only reply, can't make threads or whatever, and you have to talk like a politician for literally months before you can make a single thread, and then if you make a single controversial or inflammatory thread you will get banned.
