This thread reminded me of someone here in the forums about some years ago taught me there existed these neat books by a scottish writer called Iain M. Banks about a hyperfuturistic society called "The Culture" ...

Currently on book 4 btw, thoroughly enjoyed boks 1 to 3 , they are the best.

In the books your point is expressed clearly and i find it weirdly synced up that the chapter I am reading right now has a character rationalizing why Earth needs to be sucked into a miniature black hole.

You should read it :)
